If it wasn't for the black boomerang…
Exterior equipment is a more important factor for the looks, for instance a 335i M Sport with 19" looks much better than a sport line 428i with 18".
I saw 2 weeks ago a Carbon Black 428i at my dealer, and I didn't realized it was a 4 at first sight, the color looked unfamiliar to me, so I looked again to realize it was a 4.
It looks like my 335i + the ugly vent. I do have trunk envy though.

When you step in, you feel like you are stepping even further down as the interior floorboard and seat are low relative to the door sill compared to other cars.

I'm 6'4" and it's a long way down and up!

It's definitely easier for me to get in, than out, as it's not intuitive what to hold on to when lifting yourself out (I find myself using my right arm on the steering wheel to help lift/push me up). Sometimes I expect I look a little silly getting out, but then again it's a 6GC so you can't feel too silly.

I recommend sitting in one if it's a concern. It would be extremely difficult to ingress/egress if you have any disabilities.

(That's the one benefit of the X6, as you step down - not up.)

To keep it a bit on topic, I would expect a very similar feel in a 4GC. Biggest difference is likely rear seat leg room as well as luxury appointments in cabin (although 4's are very nice!).

I can say it is a great/sporty feel being so low to the ground when driving.

BTW, I'm no longer a spring chicken (just turned 40) if an age reference is helpful regarding the ingress/egress.
That change of decision of a M4 to 650i is interesting, I was wondering too for which one I would go for.
The 650i is very luxurious, and has a big engine. Have you had any regrets so far?
I think it will be interesting to see how valets react to the M4 in comparison to MB E500's, Audi S7's and BMW 650i's.

To me the M4 is still looking too sober, considering what it cost (in my country M cars can only be bought pretty much fully loaded, that's standard here, the only thing optional is pretty much the Ceramic brakes), I think BMW should consider those factors in the exterior design of the cars, as the M3/4s in this case, compete directly against 650i's (both costing more than the equivalent of 108,000 USD // M4 without ceramic brakes) (there are not 640i available) contrary to the US, where you can get a basic M4 amazingly cheap.
No regrets, I feel it's a better car overall - very classy - but definitely doesn't handle like a sports car such as the M4.

Exhaust sounds excellent with the V8 and sport exhaust, nice raspy sound at times which turns heads.

I get thumbs up often. I'm sure valets will respect the M4's as well!

Those frameless doors are fine for a convertible, but a real deal-breaker for a sleeker 4 door sedan hatchback. You could say it's more sporty, but in a 4 door +1 box, quietness from wind noise is more important.

Of course it is! It's new! Give it 20,000 miles and then post a YouTube video of you in the cabin driving it and we can see what the difference is.

Does it become noisier due to the deterioration of the seals?

Car settles in. Door frames help disperse noise better. I didn't mean to imply that it's loud; I meant to say that it's more noisy without the frame.

Noted, thanks. My E82 never had any wind noise in the 2-3 years I owned it, hopefully my 4GC is the same

Guess you're not as sensitive to noise as I. Saying you never had any wind noise must mean you had it sealed like a Rolls-Royce

Either that, or I didn't own it long enough for the problem to reveal itself

I'm very picky with noise, I started with silencing PCs many years ago (to the point where the electronic whine from my monitor was the loudest component.) I had a Honda Civic which had 35 issues and rattles that the dealer couldn't replicate so I stripped that car down to the shell and rebuilt it with 3 bulk packs of dynamat and a box full of ensolite foam

that said I'm coming from a Golf so at first the 4gc will probably be super quiet, if anything tyre noise will rear its ugly head first...

less than 4 days now!!

this car does not photo well, it always looks like a 3 series-GT in the side profile pics to me. The only photo angle that looks good to me is the front 3/4 view where it shows a more "3D" perspective on how tapered the peaks of each pillar really are, which gives it a good 6-series grandcoupe impression.

However, with that being said. THIS CAR LOOKS FABULOUS IN PERSON. My dealer had a 3series GT, 328i sport-line, and a 428i M-sport all parked next to each other. the difference is clear to me, this car, from all angles, looks like a baby 6series grandcoupe, with perfect proportions, sleek lines, and a very muscular stance; there isn't a 3-series GT look from any angle. I think photographs do not capture the actual perspective of the roof line(s)/angles well, and I feel the same way about photos of 4 serious coupe.

Inclined to agree! Also I don't really want to see my car everywhere on the road...

imho it's not special enough to generate demand for a waiting list. It's just another choice of car for people who'd like a BMW but don't find their practical needs met elsewhere in the line-up.
