2014 328i M-Sport price question

Wife and I are looking to order a 2014 328i M-sport, Estoril blue, premium packange and lighting package. MSRP shows $46075. Shopping a few local dealers and so far the best price I have got for the car is $43880 plus tax and license. Is this a good price or is there room to work???

Go look up invoice. You should be able to get invoice - any rebates or incentives.

You can find the invoice prices by using the configurator at bmwconfig.com. I don't think the 2014s are up yet, but you should be able to get a rough idea of what invoice is by looking at the 2013s.

Generally $500 over invoice (or less) is considered a good deal. This is before rebates or incentives. Good luck!

Do they run your credit before you talk #s? Or after your build they run credit then $500 deposit to submit?

The dealers that I've worked with have asked for the colors/specs I wanted, gave me a sale price, ran credit, then talked monthly payment. Then, before they submitted the order, they asked for the deposit.

They can't really give you the monthly payment before figuring out your credit (and thus the Money Factor you qualify for). But, if you want to shop around for the best price without having your credit run, you should be fine to just get the sale price of the car. Or, you could just have them run the numbers and tell them to use the top tier credit.

Never asked credit but am paying cash. Not sure if that will make a difference.

Credit should have nothing to do with negotiating the selling price of the vehicle. My credit rating took a ding from making the wrong decision to allow two dealers to separately run my credit.

I would find out your invoice value and add $500. If they won't give you that, definitely don't let them run your credit and threaten to go to another local dealer. Good chance they'll accept your price or someone else will.

Yea seems a little unrealistic ... I got mine close to invoice and the MSRP was $46,000.
