Glovebox catch/opener replacement

Can anybody advise me on how to replace the glovebox opener / catch please?

I have got the updated part trimmed with 'metal' finish but can't work out how to get the old one out, even by studying the new one, although it doesn't really look that complicated at all. The lock barrel would need transferring too. I've tried pulling on it with 'reasonable' force (as hard as I dare) from the little hole/recess behind the handle. I've tried this both locked and unlocked.

It would make sense that you can't just pull it out from a security point of view given that the lock barrel is integral to it but I can't see any obvious way to dismantle from the inside of the door either.

Any help would be appreciated!

My Glovebox opener is still sat around waiting for the day someone can show me how to fit it!

I've tried pulling, twisting, sticking things into gaps etc etc everything short of pulling the door apart to remove the original one

Hi, I have done this mod myself on my F30. Unfortunately, I did not document how it was done. The trick is to analyze the trim you bought with the chrome bits in it and from there figure out how to pry it out. It is very tightly secured so be sure to use a strong angled plastic prying tool together with a cloth to prevent damage to the glovebox. I was feeling daunted as it won't come off but after applying more pressure it popped right off. Once off, analyze how the locks pops into the holder and then pushed it out with a cloth wrap screw driver. There is a catch so you have to be careful. Sorry but I did It sometime back and did not take any pics.
