Quick Q Regarding Side Mirrors

Wasn't sure where to put this but...

A 2004 325i was brought to a Toyota dealership for some sort of random maintenance. When it came in everything worked and when it left everything worked, as confirmed by multiple witnesses. After it left it went to the detailer's, and then after the detailers it went back to the customer. When the customer recieved the car the power side mirrors did not work. The detailers assumed they had knocked loose a wire or something during the cleaning. The car is then taken to the local BMW dealership. There, the BMW people say that the car has M3 side mirrors and they there is no way they could've ever worked on this car. Now they want to charge $1200.00 to have proper side mirrors put on, a cost which will ultimately fall on the Toyota dealership.
Could E46 M3 power side-mirrors be made to work on a 2004 325i? Maybe they are shoddy aftermarket replicas? The Toyota tech hasn't been able to look at the car again to check the connections.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm almost certain OEM E46 M3 mirrors would be plug-and-play on an E46 325 as far as electrics are concerned. Regardless, maybe some water got in there during the detail? Maybe a fuse (though probably not if there are no other problems)?

If they are aftermarket mirrors, then your guess is as good as mine.

Why would someone service their BMW at a Toyota dealership? There's the first problem.
