Poll: Black or Chrome?
So, I recently got a pair of gloss black grilles on my F32, but I cant help thinking that the stock chrome grilles looked better? Probably because of the lack of contrast when its black on black - What do you guys think?
Pics attached, although the lighting on the black on black is quite poor i must say. Last edited by mastrchee; 05-19-2016 at 04:31 AM.. |

I've been having the same dilemma with my MG 4 series.I think black works better on lighter coloured car. Not so "fast and furious"

Black looks more aggressive - chrome looks classy.
I can't decide which is better........ .

Its a difficult one, im really not a fan of chrome anywhere on my cars but black on black is a little bit less urmmmm, black and white! Can't believe im saying this but i think i actually prefer the chrome. Having said that it would be the only chrome on the car by the looks of it which doesnt seem right to me.
Not much help really am I |

Yeah I am inclined to agree with you... even though black looks aggressive, it feels as if though its lost the definition. it was in the back of my head until this morning when my wife was like "i think it looked better before"

Ha. Having same thoughts. After my pigeon head on yesterday car is going in Monday for a replacement lower centre grille and I was considering also having the gloss black kidney grilles fitted but I cannot decide if I like them enough to switch. Car is MG but I quite like the chrome as they stand out well against the MG front end and sometimes I see pics of MG and black grilles and feel like they kind of disappear and don't really stand out. Then on some pics they look good. 50/50. Guess I'll be sticking with chrome for now then.

Both look good on a black car but if it was mine I'd stick with chrome (but then I'm not keen on black/dark wheels either).

My car is MG and I prefer the black ones that I replaced the silver ones for. Definitely a more sporty appearance IMO. "Apples and Oranges"

Before I saw pictures of your car I was thinking chrome. After seeing it's a black car and seeing that picture I'd definitely stick with black.
The F32 is a tough one. On almost all other BMW's I think the black grilles work really well but with the F32 I feel as though because they blend into the headlights the chrome works better, if that makes sense? I thought about black grilles for a long while before I got mine and decided I'd stick with the chrome because it just doesn't blend well with the headlights in my opinion. The only time it works is if you've got the whole M Performance kit which adds a lot more black/carbon to the car. And now I see it works well on a stock black F32 too. Stick with the black I say |
