JB4 Before Break-in Period Finsh?

so guys i just got my new 320i switch from 1.4tsi vw golf.. and in desperate need of moar POWER.. i ordered a jb4 while my car still in delivery..and its had arrived now with the car only had 300km on the clock.. should i wait longer until the break in finsh or can i do it now?.

p.s this car is not my daily driver, its a weekend warrior with only 10-15mile trip a week.. and i am quite bit impatient

Thanks..

They recommend 500 miles but I would say longer like 1200 miles because it's much more stress than stock

A couple more pounds of boost during WOT is not going to effect the way the engine "breaks in". 95% of the break in is done within the first few minutes of the engine running. I don't see a reason you would need to wait for such a minor upgrade.

I would at least go 1k if not the 1200 miles.

I would agree with the engine break-in happening very early. However, one thing I have observed in this world of modern passenger car engines and oils is making me wonder if it's possible that the oil actually gets better with miles. I believe it lends some credibility to the seemingly radical notion of a manufacturer recommended oil change interval of 10-12k miles. With that in mind, I might not be so eager to increase boost for the very first 1k miles, just to be safe.

i had a connection issue the first time, the cause was outdated software on the computer, maybe you have the same problem. As far as the map, for the 320 map 5 is what you need to run, using the computer and usb connection.

Usually jb4 comes preprogrammed to run map 1 , your 320i should run map 5

I think you are taking too much of a risk running it on brand new car before break in and without setting it up on map5.

I would remove it till you get the USB connectivity sorted out and make sure it's running map5

Just my 2c
