idle issue
Hi,
I have a 2018 320i with manual gearbox, and I'm seeing this issue: The idle is often very low, as low as 600 revs. There seems to be little logic in the rev count at idle, sometimes it's 750, sometimes i's 900, and most often it's 600. When cold, it can also be 1100, but that doesn't last long. Being a 4 cylinder, I know it'll never be super smooth, but the stick now feels like a regular diesel engine would (I know, I have drive a lot of those). But these had higher revs anyway. To that extent I'm wondering, is it normal for an B48 engine to idle at 600 ? Isn't it just bad to run that low revs ? Is it a technical problem actually ? There was another issue at some point, actually for some time, but that is gone now and it was the fact the engine sometime had lots of troubles not to stall from itself, when it dropped to idle revs. That issue is gone now - by itself - but it seemed half related to me. Just mentioning. The car would almost never actually stall, but it would drop to 500 or 400 revs. |

Yeah, you see, I know these things exist and such, but not every single BMW owner in the world has got one of these.
On a legal note : the car is not registered on my name. I'm not the owner. It's possible I break policy by doing that. You don't know what these policies state. |
