Electric Waste-gate code 123431

2013 BMW 328i, 55k miles...recently had check engine light come on, went and got the code read from Firestone. Came back as " Code 12431 Electric waste gate"

The check engine light since then has randomly gone away and come back on 2 separate days, and has been on for about a 2 weeks now. Any suggestions ?

This code from memory is related to the wastegate learning limit stop. Means your wastegate isn't completely opening

Hmmm. Is that something I could fix on my own? (Fairly inexperienced). Or would I have to take it to the shop

Id recommend you take it to a shop just to be safe.
