Code P0301

So last night I was on the highway cruising home and got a check engine light for drivetrain malfunction. The car is a 2014 BMW 320i xDrive 136k kms so I got home and hooked up my scanner and it displayed the code P0301 (misfire cylinder 1). This morning I attempted to change my sparks but upon inspection realized my ignition coil for cylinder 1 had some white stuff on it and some sort of liquid (im guessing a mixture) and it smelt really bad. I went out and got DINAN ignition coils and NGK 2 step colder plugs as I am running Bootmod3 stage 1. After replacing these parts the check engine light is still there and the car is still misfiring and idling weirdly. What else do I need to check for and has anyone else had something similar happen to them?
Attached picture of the coil, also all spark plugs had even wear.
