My CA said it was really hard getting the 335i allocation. Oh well, I got the car and during the wait I had enough time to collect the money, so I can pay it off. I'm now happy and enjoying the ride! It was not the best experience, but the car is just making me to forget everything.

Something is not right with that at all.

You state "document submitted on 4/19. Did you receive your production number on that date?
If not, then your order wasn't in BMW's system, meaning, not actually ordered.
An actual order gets an order number when it's placed.

But, your wait is over, and you'll be enjoying your new BMW.
I guess it's like child birth, many women forget the pain and agony of labor and birth, and enjoy their new baby.

Compared to my 2004 experience ordering a 545i w. Sport package, this whole process has been infuriating!!

02/22/12: test drove both F30 versions, decided to await xDrive
06/05/12: finally signed order for 335xi, promised Week 27 production
07/12: shortly after Wk. 27 start, CA advised production delayed till Wk. 30
07/26: BMW phone site states: "In production, completion est. 08/04"

If this, quite literally, wasn't my "bucket list" vehicle, I would have either never made or, later, cancelled the order a long time ago.http://www.f30post.com/forums/images/smilies/sigh.gif

late-May/early-June: MY 2012 no longer available, so ordering MY 2013
July 1: Officially ordered
??? : Production start date
Four weeks later, still no production date scheduled.
Expected production date: late-August
Expected delivery: mid-October

More than five months waiting time. I feel like I'm on the wait list for a Ferrari.

Make sure your order is in Priority 1 status, you should be able to ask the sales manager to confirm (have them visually show you by printing out the Vehicle Inquiry Report).

Yep, Priority "1-Customer Sold". It's hard to believe that I was moved up to the front of the line, as I should have been, to get a 2013 since I originally ordered a 2012. It's easier to believe that the only 2013's made so far since they started production 3 weeks ago have all been designated for Saudi princes, celebrities, BMW employees, and politicians. I'm just one Batman movie away...

Hey, similar timeline as me so far. I initially placed my order on 4/21, the dealer eventually traded for an allocation in late June after they didn't get any MY2012 allocations, and it went into production 7/27 also. Estimated completion date is 8/3.

4/21: Placed order for 2012 335i
6/16: Updated order for a 2013 as dealership still had not received a 335i allocation (despite getting 3 for 2013 335i xdrives)
6/30: CA emailed that the dealership still has not received an allocation for a 335i, but would be trading for one within the next few days
7/5: Received production number scheduled for an early August build
7/27: Started production in SA

I have an SA build, so I still have a long wait, just a lot less long than 3 months ago.

My car finished production a couple of days ago, and it's at the port waiting for a boat. I just might get it before the end of August.

After 12 long weeks, the car is now in mine (and my wife's :P). Despite the amount of time it took, it was a pleasant experience. Got a pretty in-depth rundown of most of the features. I am coming from an '05 Camry and this is my first BMW, so it's slightly overwhelming. I want to make a few mods, but I'm going to wait a bit to get used to the car as it is. I am currently very happy with the purchase and have little to no complaints.
