I'm not so sure until I see the final product.
Things I like Driver orientation is back. Notice even the i-drive control is angled along with the driver sightline, which is more natural. The gear stick seems to orientate nearer to the driver with some clever play of lines and paneling. What I don't like The monitor. Should not be popping out like that - its a sore thumb. even the recent C class revision abandoned the pop up panel. I think it is cost. probably cheaper not to make another mould for dash with and without i-drive. Maybe there's a cut-out panel for retrofit. The horizontal wood trim panel along the central vents doesn't give a solid feel to the whole facia. same thing with the radio/AC control panel ( so many trims). Both looked like stick on panel instead of flush fitment. They look like they're going to squeek. Plus there are too many joints. Just look at that junction between the vents wood trim and the driver's instrument cluster hood - messy joint. And what about that trim around the shift. What happen to the clean lines??? I'm hoping these are just dummy panels, as I have said, they looked like stick on panels. I'm fine with the cupholders, but hope they can be hidden closed with some flap and keep the console area clean and tidy. I like the current E90 cupholders as thay are within sightlines but can be a problem when they are sticking out while you are moving in and out. large and unfamiliar front passenger can easily knock those out. Notice some open storage area in front of the cupholders- great for temporary stowage like tickets and phones. And that swoosh curvy lines across the dash!! I'm not sure. The dash should have a stable, taut and solid look. Its just a little distracting. |

I. Love. It! There is a hint of A6 Audi, but nonetheless, looks great.
-Driver oriented dash -Cupholders (yes, I am a normal person who occasionally enjoys coffee in his car, and appreciates cupholders) -Manual handbrake -Ergonomic, clean, tasteful layout -Pop-up navi If anything, it reminds me of why I disliked the e90 bland-yet-liveavble interior, so much. Love it! Love it! Love it! Hitting all the right notes here F30. Please bring back the non-RFTs and spare tire as a factory option. Last edited by Falafel Combo; 10-11-2011 at 10:32 AM.. |

I hope is not true. The seats and materials are shiny and cheap. And that nav screen, what the hell???? How can they design and interior as beautiful and the 5 series and the x5, but then come up with this? YUCK!!

First thought: YAY, cup holders! I personally thought that the ones in the E9X were terrible and non functional.
I love it - comfortable, sleek, a driver's cockpit yet simple and classy. I have high expectations but do not think I'll be dissapointed.

Currently driving the new 120d 1-er. This cockpit seems nearly identical to the hatchbacks: same AC/radio block, navigator screen, even cupholder and automatic gearlever. The wood panels are what makes it different and nice. I really hope that 1-er rough grainy plastic will go away in 3-er.

So long as Nav is optional, I like this quite a bit. I don't like Nav in a car, and BMW has to this point been good about making it optional, hopefully this continues.

Ha! Who's compairing the 911 with a regular 3 series? It will be a competitor of the 991 911 when the next gen m3 with the same or very similar interior comes out. I think ahead. |

hmmm, im in for better pics...dunno what to say. I rode in my cousins 2009 A4 over the weekend for the first time and I was completely shocked at how the nice the interior was, really made be realize how boring my e90 was.
