F32 Foglights on F30

Hello bummers. I asked BMW if F32 LED fog lights can replace the ones on a F30, 328i, and the answer with a NO. It has to be a retrofit parts in order to work on the 3 series.

I wonder if this is a legitimate answer or not, as I kinda feel the need to change these halogen yellowish stock foglight to LED.
