What's wrong with my tire?

Hey guys. I'm having a huge problem with my tire. Basically about two or three weeks ago I noticed that this tire started losing air because the indicator came up on the dashboard. At first I thought because it was winter it might be just low-pressure so I went and filled up the tires. Turns out my rear right passenger tire is Leaking.

I dropped it off to a Firestone that I work across the street from just to see what the leak was from. I told him if that needed to be patched or whatever go ahead and do it and they're going to charge me 20 bucks. They called me later that day and said that three people check the tire through it in water and everything and they couldn't find any leaks in the tire or red. They ended up telling me that it could be because of the cold weather.

I took the car back yesterday they had said that they filled it up to the full PSI for air and today I'm driving tire are completely flat again. I don't know what is wrong, but maybe you guys could tell me something that I may not know.

I don't want to take it to the dealer just for them to tell me that I need a new rim and tire and alignment and oil change and new drivers and passenger seat because they're too heavy just so they can make money. Maybe you guys can give me some other suggestions as to what might be wrong

Also, please excuse any typos or grammar mistakes as I typed out this whole post using voice recognition on my iPhone. Thanks guys.

Don't you have the free 4 year 50K maintenance? I'd just take it to the dealer and save yourself the headache.

Sounds like you either have a bent wheel or maybe your valve is faulty.

There are sometimes very subtle sidewall leaks, or issues where they stamp a production number on the inside of the wheel. You should skip the tire places and go to BMW. Unfortunately sounds like they would probably have to leave it over night. Atmospheric pressure would affect all 4 tires obviously

I experienced the same thing before when I changed my stock to non run flats. Sometimes tire were not manufactured perfect and smooth. Where the tire touches the rim some rubber bits sticks out and does not produce a perfect seal. I took it back to the shop the second time they took the rubber bits away and it's 2 weeks now I have no more leak.

So I'm at the dealer, waiting for them to look at my tire. I came in with a flat tire when I just filled my tire with air yesterday. They filled the tire with air, and have no idea why it's leaking.

They said the tire is fine, they checked all angles, and have no idea what's wrong if anything.

The SA even came up to me and asked if someone is pulling a prank on me and taking out the air from my tire every night -.-

What????

There are at times very small holes within the rim itself. Manufacturing defect and they are not so easy to track down.

Yea. I think you should take it to the dealership or get new tires. I you do have to get new tires, at least it's a chance to get some great tires for your car.

I just had a problem with a winter Pirelli. Leaking around the bead in very cold weather. Numerous phone calls to Tire Rack and then Pirelli , the first tire replacement leaked also. The second tire so far is okay. I'll know this week expecting sub 10 degree weather.

Turns out the there was something wrong with the "sticky weight" on the back of the tire and it was pushing the tire in too much and causing a leak. All fixed after waiting 4 hours at the dealer
