Canadian F30 - spec and pricing question re MY12 and MY13

I just ordered a 328i from BMW of Mississauga about a week ago - originally a MY12. I received a call from dealer that specific car not available, and that dealer had to process order as MY13.

No big deal, I thought, but the price went up by $750 (as there is currently a $750 cash back promotion).

Two Questions:
#1 : for a non-navi 328i (luxury line), are there any technical differences between MY12 and MY13? I can't find reference to any
#2 : if there is a promotion in the future (say during the month of Sept/Oct), am i entitled to receiving the benefit for it?

Advice and insight appreciated.......... Thanks

Only very minor changes for the 2013 models.
Addition of XDrive and MSport for those interested.

You will be eligible for whatever incentives are available at the time of delivery.

Hmm, I was in another GTA dealership yesterday, talking about ordering a new 328i. The CA I was talking to told me that the current $750 BMW Canada incentive would apply as long as the order was placed by the end of June; I.e. if my order could not be filled by a car already in the Canadian inventory or pipeline and had to be a factory build (necessarily a 2013 model at that point) then the $750 incentive would still apply. Was he BSing me?

the intent of the incentive is to clear-out the pipeline of pending 2012 production orders.

if it's not in the pipeline and the production floor is fully booked until plant shutdown, then yes, your built-to-order cars will be built after plant retooling for 2013 models (july 2012), hence you'll get MY 2013 vehicles, and incentives won't apply anymore.

meet with your sales guys to rework your orders and pick one from the pipeline closest to your specs. you'll be assured of the incentive plus earlier delivery

I asked about the incentives as I'm ordering a 2013. I was told the current offer is to clear the 2012s. Any incentive that is available at that time I'll be eligible for .

Keep in mind if you are leasing the $750 incentive will likely be offset to a certain degree by a slightly higher residual for the 2013s. If you're financing then when you go to sell or trade the 2013 model will command a slightly higher premium than 2012 so that would be the way to go.

Thanks very much for the insight. As it turns out, I ordered the MY13, and paid incremental $500 and received promise that will get reduction if national program in place during the month of delivery......... Assume nothing, but some upside I guess........

Hey, I'm in the same boat. Ordered an MY2012 from 'Sauga and was told that it may be MY2013, so the promotion would not apply and lease rates may increase.

Ended up ordering an xDrive last night afterall. Lease rate is the same and there is a higher residual, so monthly payments end up being equal to the RWD despite the $2600 increase for xDrive.

Thanks for sharing. Do you reckon 2% residual increase?

The residual was 60% for the 328i xDrive, an increase of 4% over the 2012 RWD.

Do you mind sharing the price of the car with a breakdown of options and the lease information

The base price is the same between MY2012 or MY2013, so for 328i is $43,600.

The xDrive is $2600.

For my order I got metallic paint ($800) and Sport Line ($1500), also unchanged between MY2012 and '13.

So the price ends up being $48,500.

Lease rate is 4.9% as per BMW Canada.

Hope this helps!

Is there a site where we can see the residuals or we can just configure it on the BMW Canada website?

I put $5000 down to save some interest. It ends up saving $1000+ over 36 month lease period.

Maz, how long did you wait between ordering and getting a production number?
