Pre-purchasing additional miles on existing lease

My lease on a 2011 328i is coming to an end in September, and I might exceed the allocated miles by a 1000 or 1500 miles.

I have been searching but not able to find good info on how I can do this.

I am about 98 days away from my existing lease end. Can I purchase more miles online through my BMWFS account?

Also, what is the shortest lease extension period.
I will order an F30 in July, waiting on some paper work and it may not arrive before my lease ends. So I will likely have to extend the lease for an extra month.

Any input is appreciated.

Thank you guys. Looking forward to getting behind an MY14 F30 with M-sports.

are you sold on the 2014? You might be able to find a 2013, lease a good deal and get BMWFS to let you out of your lease 3 months early and have no penalty. Not sure on your situation so maybe your buying or maybe your sold on the 2014 but that could be an option

Buy the miles online but if you think you will be over by say a 1000 miles it is only $200 if you wait. You can order a 2014 July production now and should have the car late August.

That's exactly what I'd do. Call up your CA and ask if they would let you out of your lease early if you pick something on their lot. In my experience they always pay up to 3 remaining months if you sign on a new car...they will be flexible. If not, it's $200 per 1,000 miles if you pre-buy on your BMW account online.

Do the pull ahead program which waives you final 3 payments and tell your dealer to cover the access mile charges so you do nothing out of pocket

I don't really get the pre-purchase idea. They are still charging you .20 per mile, that is the same price per mile in most lease agreements, right?

Right. If he would have bought them 4 or 6 months before his lease ended, he could have got the miles at $.16/mile

I think it is better to pay at turn in because there is a decent amount of flexibility in waiving charges

You get some more miles when you extend your lease as well, which might help

Also, I agree the pull ahead promotion is great.

My car was about 1,450 over and the dealer waived that. They also kicked in an extra payment to pull ahead 4 months instead of 3.
