Comparing my 2013 328i to 2014 X1 loaner
My 2013 328i is in for its first scheduled maintenance today, and I've been driving a 2014 X1 2.8 loaner. Aside from eco pro mode, this X1 does not have any other driving modes.
I immediately noticed that the steering in the X1 has more heft than the steering of my car (even in sport + mode), and also a noticeable improvement in feel and feedback. The engine/exhaust in this X1 also has a louder and deeper sound than the 4 cyl in my 3 series. It's just very interesting that based on these attributes, the 3 series seems to lean more toward efficiency, while the X1 leans more toward sport. I'm already somewhat tempted to switch to an X1 next time.

I test drove the x1 msport before buying my13 328. The center of gravity is much different. I used to have an x5 x3 and a glk350 but like the 328 better. I don't drive on a track and for everyday use you can't beat It. I just wish we coukd get the msport 328 here.

The xdrive models get HPS, so you still get great steering. |
