I considered the top view to help me see how close I'm to other objects, but then realised I'm far too an@l to park in tight spaces or close to other vehicles for fear of damage other people might inflict on my car. That the passenger side mirror dips when reversing is more than enough to tell me how close I can get to the curb/kerb. But I understand how helpful those aids are, just as I understand why some people prefer the 8AT over the much more involving 6MT.

Why would anybody want power windows? I learned how to reach across and roll up windows myself? Why would anybody want a starter motor? I learned how to get out of the car and crank the engine by hand? Why would you want a radio? I know how to sing.

I put a backup camera in my f150 and liked it so much that when I bought a 335i without a backup camera I decided to go through the process of retrofitting an OEM backup camera to the car. To each his own. I am a computer geek, I work in IT. Technology is interesting to me and I enjoy it. I especially enjoy the process of figuring out how to do it. If it was easy anybody could do it, right?
