You need +12V on PIN1 from FUSE27 (yellow socket, X14*1B and X12*1B)
And Ground on PIN16

Just to get this straight in my head. Do you have to take the larger grey box off the underneath of the original seat and put it on the new seat going in? Even if the new seat going in is of a higher spec?

I guys sorry to refresh old trend.... I just got a bmw f30 330d msport. Vehicle came with manual seats with only lumber support it is the 2013 vehicle. Looking at doing a electronic memory seats retrofit. Just purchased seats from 435i, only has a white box on the driver side. Can some please help me? Also i would like to know if its possible to get the electic function and memory function both working... Please not my current seats have no heating or white modules under the seat

Finally got round to doing this retrofit with the awesome instructions david51 sent to me over a year ago. Makes a huge difference to my touring and will be modifying the back seats to fit next.

My car had the manual heated sports seats with rear width adjustment, 2018 340i F31. Both seats had the small black module as stock. Only needed wiring in to kcan on drivers side, couple of wires for badge illumination, and then power from fuse box to pin 15 on both sides. A little VO coding on e-sys and everything is working perfectly!

So did you use kcan or kcan2? It seems that cars (or seat module) up to a certain year use lin, then some use kcan and the latest stuff uses kcan2. I connected mine to kcan (pins 51 & 52 on FEM) and the SM doesnt show in insta or esys. I believe mine need kcan 2(yellow/red and yellow/brown)

K-lin (for those who have the small black modules)

For large white modules
Connection according to the year of the seats

For seat after July 2013:
5 to Pin 49 /K-CAN2_L (yellow/brown)
6 to Pin 50 /K-CAN2_H (yellow/red)

For seat before July 2013:
5 to Pin 51/ K-CAN_ L (green)
6 to Pin 52/ K-CAN_H (orange/green)

It has to be the seat module on the seat that is the deciding factor of which Kcan to use then as I my car is 0313. The F80 seats are 2016. I used k-can on pin 51 and 52 but the module doesnt show up. Everything works on both seats other than drivers heated element and the memory.
Im going to try it on kcan next. Hopefully that will sort it.

check if you have not reversed pin 5 and 6

Ha ha. No, fortunately I haven't done that. If I had done I might have to resign from my career in Civil Gas Turbine manufacture. Wouldn't want to fly again, that's for sure. :-)

I have added the 12V and the KanH/KANL directly to the FEM for the driver side and for the passenger side I have installed the LIN and 12V. After VO coding I have issue with the Driver Side. The 3 green indicates turns off after couple seconds and error on ISTA says LIN missing driver seat. But there isn’t any LIN cables on that side I’m not sure what to do next. Is it a coding issue and how can I resolve it?

have you done a CAFD detection with the E-sys software?

Hello hope some one can help me I have some M2 f87 seat that I am useing as a sim racing seat I have put 12v dc to pins 15+ and 16- and 12v to pin 1 all works fine but it stops work after about 1 min if I unplug then for a bit then plug in it starts working again for a bit then stops. Can someone please help 😢

Its not in a car it on a sim racing rig I'm powering it of a 12v dc 30amp power supply

check if you have plugged in the K-can
