Returning to my question, how many of you with this issue have the variable sport steering option?
But come to think of it, I have a couple of other questions: 1. Does it happen on all pavement types? 2. Does it happen in all driving modes (EcoPro, Sport, Sport+)? 3. How many RPM is the engine turning when you see this issue? |

How many 335 owners have this problem? A lot of 328 owners are commenting on this thread. There's not too many 335's out there to begin with! Hell, mine has been on order for months now... Just can't get BWM to make the car! If I ever get it, i'll let you know if it has any vibration with the M-adaptive suspension.

The steering rack on the variable sport steering is a different part number than the rack on the 328i without it. Also the 335i steering rack has a different part number than the 328i, although the variable sport steering is the same in both cars.
So if people are seeing vibration only in the 328i without variable sport steering, the reasonable conclusion is that it has something to do with the rack. Note that according to Realoem.com the original part number for the 328i was 32106857283 and starting March production the part number became 32106858538. Variable Sport Steering is 32106856461 |

I have about 1,250 miles of freeways, two lane back roads and city driving and haven't noticed any vibration. I also have the 17' wheels and tires, so the ride is pretty smooth compared to my wife's old 335i.
I wonder if the tire size makes a difference? Of course, now I'll be watching for this problem, lol. |

Our issue is just the steering wheel oscillating a few degrees when driving around 45-55 mph. I can feel it in my hand and mainly very annoying. |

Add me to the list of recent buyers experiencing this problem. I picked up my car 2 days ago (late April production). I have the 328i luxury line, non-sport, automatic transmission. The steering wheel vibration is quite pronounced/noticeable and a real bummer on an otherwise awesome car that I just shelled out close to $50k to purchase.
It is putting a bit of a damper on my enjoyment of the car since I spend a great deal of my time driving in the speed range where the vibration is most noticeable. I am hoping BMW will recall/fix soon. |
