Flashing Check Engine Light and Tachometer Stuck at 1000 RPM

Hi everyone, I am looking for assistance diagnosing a problem I have encountered with my 2013 335i after flashing it with MHD stage 1 OTS Map. CSF FMIC installed, upgraded CP installed. It's my first thread so if this has already been covered, please direct me to the right place and I will read/post there.

I had a weird issue pop up the other day right after filling up with gas. The CEL came on and started flashing while my tachometer stayed at 1000 rpm. I parked, turned the car off, and restarted but the issue was still there. The actual engine was not stuck at 1000 rpm at any time, only displaying it. After I took MHD off my car, the flashing cel and tachometer worked as normal. This happened a second time a couple days after I reflashed with MHD again AND after getting gas again. This time, the CEL and tachometer problem went away without taking MHD off the car. Very odd issue and I haven't found anyone who has experienced this. From my research, some are saying extreme engine misfire or even a loose gas cap.

Also, here is a 3rd gear pull log on MHD Stage 1 93 octane if it helps.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The flashing CEL indicates a feature of MHD that allows you to switch maps if you have multi map flashed. Just press and hold the SET button on the steering wheel. The tach will point to 1,2,3 or 4 and won't move until you exit map selection. Just google MHD multi map for YT videos.

Thanks for the response. I had considered this to be the culprit as well but the weird thing is I did not flash the Multimap. I only flashed the stage 1 map so I figured it wasn't this feature. Do you think SET button feature is still possible despite not flashing the multimap?

Give it try...also note that stage 1 can be flashed as a multi map

The MHD map selection was the issue. Thanks for the input again. It still is a little perplexing though because I never held the SET button to trigger map selection mode. It seems like it entered itself after I filled up my tank.

Not sure to be honest with you. How do you enter valet mode?

You can enter map selection mode by holding on the BC button too, so after fueling if you're trying to reset BC values with ignition on you'll end up there. Ask me how I know...

I'm guessing you were doing that? lol.
That's exactly what I was doing. I reset it every time I fill up since my fuel gage is whacky.
