Where to secure a cable in the trunk for a portable safe?

I will be installing a small, portable safe in the trunk of my F36.

Appreciate all recommendations where to run the security cable.

The only good place is to secure it to the body of the car. To that end, why not use the metal tie down points?

I used the metal tie down point in my f39. Will post pic of it soon.

In my f33 i had it tied to a point in the trunk and stored it where the wind deflector stores since the wind deflector was always in place.

Ignore husky fur. It’s everywhere

That's where I normally put these safes but in my F39, I decided to stick it in the back. It's holds my "oops I left the house without my regular gun". I haven't opened that safe in a year.

I actually have a smaller one tied to the seat rail and stuffed under the back seat cushion in the F39, there's a small gap, then all the dog supplies sit in the seat behind me so it's covered.

There's only two types of places (child support building and military bases) that I can't bring a gun into and I rarely go to them so I haven't used that safe in awhile.

Just curious. Are there particular state laws that you are trying to meet with having a gun transported in a safe? And must the safe be secured to the car somehow, or is that just an extra precaution against potential theft?

It's nice to just have something portable where you can place your gun OR have a bigger gun in case of emergency or you can't bring your gun to a certain location. Our safes are TSA compliant as well
