Who here in NY (LI) runs no front plate?

I am going to take my car in to my buddies body shop soon to have the front plate removed and the 4 holes filled in.

I ran no front plate for a good 6 months between Nassau County and Upstate NY with no issues except one time being pulled over once.

What are other members experiences?

I have PBA but not for Nassau County. (NYPD)

Otherwise its a risk regardless of PBA or not ..

I've been running no front plate the last 2 years. Luckily I haven't gotten pulled over yet. I know I'm risking getting a ticket but, you risk a ticket any time you speed, having illegal tint, etc. I originally purchased and installed an aftermarket license plate mount that mounts underneath the front end and looks a lot better IMO than a tow hook plate. I used it in the beginning but decided to just run NFP.

Suffolk. I put it on once in a blue-moon depending if I know that I would get a ticket in that area I'll be traveling in (like the Hamptons).

I do. Never been pulled over (with this car), but I have gotten a few tickets when parked in a very noticeable spot. I am still searching for a quick release under bumper mount so I can pop it up when parked. They have one for M Sport, but not Sport line bumper. Tow hook is ugly. They have a quick release tow hook plate, but still looks stupid with a metal bracket hanging there. It's all a pain in the ass.

I prefer not to run a front plate. However, it's not worth the headaches. It will give my town police something to do.

This is the one I have and love it when I need to use it. Easy to put on and easy to take off. They have it for your car.

I don't have a front plate, but I am a LEO haven't had issues while driving but I did get a parking ticket once.

There is one answer for all of these threads - FP, Tint, etc..

Do it if you don't mind the tickets and are not doing anything else illegal in your car. BUT, just know YMMV.

I emailed them a while ago asking about a non M option and he said he would go to the dealer to check the car out. Didn't hear back, but this was definitely not on their site prior to that point. I'm getting this right now. haha Thanks for pointing it out.

Ran it for a while before on past cars within the Nassau and Queens area. I've gotten ticketed multiple times while parked but never been pulled over for it. A buddy of mine has been pulled over with me in the car and a state trooper on the Meadowbrook out by Sunrise used the no plate as an excuse to do a more in depth examination of the car...Ended up letting him off with a warning.

Interesting, I don't really think that would be PC for a search but I don't know for sure.

Probably should've clarified...It wasn't to search the car, but to comb through his paper work and exterior of the car (exhaust, tints, etc). They even hassled him about having his inspection and registration being placed vertical to each other instead of horizontal.

i just picked up a car with no front plate bracket and dont plan to run one. i looked into the tow hook mounts but with the msport front they do not play nice with my PDC.

My friend has been running no front plate for over a year now on his 2011 335 (Black) Sedan but he's mostly driving at night since he's a DJ in Manhattan. He has gotten a ticket while parked but now he puts his front plate depending on where he's parked.

I decided to go the route of a manual show n go. Should have this all done by Friday.

I am going to fill the holes with bondo for bumpers and try to touch up the holes myself, since I have a buffer and can wetsand and buff myself. I'll update everyone on how it goes.

I would recommend that you spray the pull pin (with WD40 or equivalent) on the base 2x a month so that it won't seize up due to getting wet.
