F30 X-Drive OEM+ Mod Recommendations

Like many I could not figure out what mods to go for when upgrading my car.

I like the idea of OEM + so never bought into any of the overkill mods.

Had the car for 2 years and so far have done:
Carbahn auto flash tune: love it very fast

Dinan mid-pipe: great sound on stock box not sure what else you would want to hear that you can't with this mod. Highly recommend

Dinan cold air intake: looks cool.. that's about it

Just added- Bilstein B8 paired with Eibach Kit springs. Install was a pain but honestly the ride is fantastic. Does not feel overly harsh in any way and in fact i find to be more comfortable and less "crashy" over bigger bumps.

Overall I have taken the conservative approach on most mods and really can't see the justification for anything else if you want to keep OEM+ unless you're a true hardo or want to pay for the best (MPPSK, etc.)

I remember being like you, then I somehow ended up with a PS2 installed, and slowly converting the car to a 30/70 track/street setup.

Funny you should say that. While I am very happy atm. A few years from now I can totally see myself just slowly moving that route.

Those are the two main reasons I did it, along with removing the warnings on the iDrive screen when starting the car.

I've been interested in getting BimmerCode. I just don't know if it's compatible with my car or not. I'm new to BMW vehicles. The website says the only 3 series compatible is the M3.

It's compatible. The website says 3 Series, M3. If you click that it lists F30, F31, F34, F35, F80 for the supported F series chassis.

Our cars Generation is F30 a M3 would be F80. It covers almost all 3 series even my 2010 E92

Thank you both so much for clarifying that!

What adapter would you recommend? Should I be good with Bimmercodes official adapter?

But if you plan on doing any other flashing/tune spend a little more and get the KIES or MHD

Love the OEM+ look! I'll be doing the same thing, how is the reverse rake? i've been looking at the bilstein b12 pro kit and some other shock/spring setups for my xdrive.

I would say very minimal. The Eibach recommends the 06 suffix for the x drive vehicles (which is what I have). The front gap is a tad more than the rear but I tend to like this because I don't scrape to much. The 05 suffix from eibach does work also and will make the gap equal front and back. Ride quality is great. Gap is perfect for my needs. Not slammed but not 4x4

how is the Bilstein B8 paired with Eibach Kit springs for the F30 in terms of handling performance vs street comfort? What would coilovers provide that this wouldnt? How much of an upgrade would this be over the stock 320ix base suspension setup?

edit: Im currently on H/R lowering springs and my stock struts and shocks are starting to show signs of wear. Was considering either coils of the b8s.

looks great. I'm considering the eibach spring route in the future myself. Only thing holding me back is the fact my car came with EDC. I do love having this feature and compatible shocks/struts to retain this function are very expensive. Seems everyone says its sucks with the stock ones which is a shame for such a mild drop. If I were you, the only other mods I'd consider are lightweight OEM style wheels from the likes of Apex and upgrading to the larger factory brakes. I just swapped in some m3 calipers with the 370/345 rotors over the weekend and it makes such a big difference visually.
