6 MT gear heads ...

What auto-only cars do you desire but can not have? BMW or otherwise.

I really wish the 435gc came in a manual... I would have money down now if it was an option :-(

I'd take an SLS AMG GT...auto only with DCT. I could overlook that.

wow, you're on a role with these topics..

The only new realistically affordable car I can think of is a 435i GC..

I'm in the minority that thinks the 4GC looks odd, too much like a crossover to me, too feminine. I prefer the sedan shape.

Porsche 918, McLaren P1, LaFerrari. Not that I could ever afford them.

It's sad to see how many potentially good cars are offered without a stick shift option in the US.

Diesel BMWs like the F30 328d, or even the E90 335d.
I won't look twice at the Audi A3 now.
Mercedes C-Class, Lexus IS, Acura TLX

I guess it's also worth mentioning cars like the Ferrari 458 and McClaren 650S.

Yes, the 320d 6MT I rented in Munich was a blast to drive.

Former X6 owner and current 650GC owner...

No desire to have manual in either of these two cars. Just too darn big (almost 17 feet on the GC). They are cruisers that do just fine with the 8 speed auto.

The 435GC on the other hand begs to have a manual and I might be driving it right now if it did (oh and a leather dash like the M3 please).

I don't care how good the ZF auto is - I like shifting a manual. And thus I drove my 1M to work today

The M6 can be had in MT. No more excuses.

Isn't that an f30 335i with Room for 2 baby strollers instead of one? . It is special in either case. EB2 is so damn sexy!

You know what I would want? A 6MT 428d GC M-sport. Diesel engine w/ enough power/torque for day to day city life, rwd, row my own gears, and a rear trunk (boot) that can carry items in a variety of shapes.

Now back to reality, just offer the 6MT here in the States on the 328d, 428GC, 435GC, and 535d. I know by the numbers it doesn't make much of a business case given the expense of EPA certification on ea engine/transmission combination so I'll keep on dreaming.

I know this isn't really what the thread is about, but why are companies like Audi and (on certain models) BMW totally axing their manual transmission offerings? Why not continue to offer it, but charge a premium like they used to for automatic?

Development and production costs don't warrant the effort as sales are fading. I don't get cars like Audi TT not being offered in MT. I wonder how long Audi and BMW will continue to offer MT? Virtually zero 3 or 4 series on the ground up here with MT. Lots of Audis available in a4/s4 and s5.
Drove a Pals M4 with double clutch and it was incredible. Still think I'd go MT.
Gotta win a lottery quick!
