Picked up my 2013 335i sedan today. What a ride. Love the car. Too soon to grade it vs. the 2009 335i I turned in. Initially I don't like that I'm stuck with iDrive (that display on the dash is like a small computer monitor sitting on a desktop). The least BMW could have done was make it hidable rather than just sitting there. Or integrate it into the dash. Oh well. Also don't like that when I shut off the car that the stereo/iDrive is live. Gotta hit the start/stop button again to make sure all is off (or lock it, which I won't do in my garage). I'll give it a few days of driving and comment more. Initially, I'd not change my choice of car. Little things I can live with. Hell, I may wind up liking al this new stuff.

It would be nice if the retained electrical power would kill upon opening the door.

That one's easy, put it in "sport" mode.
Fixed.
You're welcome.

Is there an optional setting perhaps where you can choose that?
In my "old tech" 135i there are a few options like when to lock/unlock the doors, whether the exterior lights stay on after exiting and for how long, etc...

I noticed the audio on after engine shut off in the last loaner I had.
To shut everything down I had to use the fob to lock the doors.
Not a big issue really, just odd.

Did not have that giant front license bracket and backup camera/sensor (had it on a loaner and absolutely fell in love with it)

I like that feature.

I don't like how my wife's Kia shuts the radio off when I hit the start/stop button. If I'm listening to a good song when I pull into my driveway, I want to turn the engine off but not the radio (yet). But I'm forced to turn off everything, then turn the power back on to turn the radio back on!

The way your BMW works is just like cars have been for years....there is an "ACC" or accessory position on the ignition just before the off position. That's the way it should be IMO.

E-mail access on the IDrive

Does anyone have problems accessing e-mails from your phone on the I-Drive? I recently took delivery of a 2013 335i and have an Iphone 4S. Noticed that all my phone contacts, song playlist can be seen on the IDrive but not my e-mails. Help.... please

I wish I wouldn't be forced to buy a "line" just to get an interior color. I'd opt for saddle brown in a heartbeat if it wouldn't cost $$$ more than beige.

IMO The better way of doing it is shut down everything when the driver doors open. This way when you turn off engine you keep listening your song until you decide to leave the car and don`t need to push the button again.

Exactly my thought. This feature already works in Mercedes as far as I know.

The doors feel/sound kind of cheap when shut.

If......it was cheaper!

All kidding aside - If BMW offered more stand alone options without being bundled into one or two packages
