So the car I originally ordered just arrived at the dealership. Only took 6 weeks to arrive in Alaska since shipping from Bremerhaven, which is better than I expected.
Sorry for the crummy pictures; lighting wasn't great and I just had my camera phone. Car looks much better in person.

(I wound up upgrading to tech package and Xenons, and my "new" new car is awaiting shipment from Bremerhaven as I type. Hopefully it will be here in early-mid October. Unfortunately, I just sold my car and am borrowing a 98 Chevy Blazer until my F30 arrives; the F30 will feel like a Ferrari after driving this utter piece of crap for 2 months)

Is the M steering wheel heated?

I didn't test it, but heated steering wheel is included in cold weather package, and my understanding is that the M Sport is not excluded from this feature.

pretty sure the m steering wheel is heated if you have the cold weather package.

Kind of a screw up; after placing my initial order, my CA contacted me and asked if I had meant to order Xenon package. I hadn't, but of course after doing research after my order, I realized I wanted them. Told CA that if he could still add to build then go for it.
So I was tracking my production number, and when build was complete, asked CA for VIN. He couldn't find it, and we eventually figured out that a new production order had been issued for an entirely new car. CA apologized, and gave me choice of accepting the first car or waiting for new build (the one with xenons), in which case dealership would take first car as their showroom demo. I realized that this was really a second chance at getting all the options I actually wanted, so had him add tech package as well.
My first car just arrived at dealership yesterday; my "new" new car is on the boat in Bremerhaven as I type! Hopefully will receive in early-mid October.

Yeah, it all worked out pretty well. This was my first BMW, and I ordered the M sport before the official options/pricing came out. I also skimped on options to keep costs low[er], which I immediately regretted. So in hindsight I am happy that I got a second chance at ordering. Of course, had I just ordered properly the first time around, I'd be out driving my m sport right now rather than posting this story!
