I'm looking for recommendations for a sturdy phone mount that works well in a 340i.

Where and how do you attach yours?

I'm using iPhone 6 with Brodit ProClip, and Brodit Passive holder without the tilt swivel, I'm sure that works well in 340i too.

i use iottie magnetic mount on an air vent and think it works great

I've been thinking of getting this for the longest time... no need to worry about breaking clips and seems like the most logical place to mount a phone so I can connect the cable... I have no use of the CD player.

I used a CD slot holder in my last car, and it ended up bending some metal inside the CD player housing. YMMV.

I did the same mount as enef, a proclip on the front left pillar, with a block spacer added to bring my iPhone 19 mm closer.

It's close enough to my steering wheel that I can reach it with my fingers to control Waze while my hands are still on the steering wheel. It's also in the periphery of my vision of the road without being distracting. And it doesn't block anything! I really like my setup, temporarily got a 10 ft iPhone lightning cable to plug into my center armrest, will route it within the dash properly this summer when I get a chance to work on the car. For now I draped it on top of my dash and around the back of my iDrive display.

I tried the proclip center mount clip:

but didn't like that it blocked my vent, and cut into some of my view of the iDrive display and controls of that part of my dash. Anyone want mine? Still in the original packaging. I also have a spare 14 mm spacer that I'm not using.

I have tried the CD/DVD player slot mount mentioned above, it not only blocked the buttons below it, but also blocked my view of the iDrive display. After 10 minutes of frustration, I removed it from my car. It's sitting the basement collecting dust, anyone want it?

When I travel, I use a Kenu Airframe vent clip to mount my iPhone to the rental car's air vent. Works well for most cars with reasonably placed air vents. Should work fine in a F30, in fact I used it for the first few weeks while waiting from my ProClip order to arrive. So small I have one in my briefcase for my frequent travels.
