BMW Extended Warranty and OEM MPPK

Hi, interested on getting peoples opinions on whether I can get the extended warranty given I've had the OEM MPPK fitted?

...sounds like not, which I am really surprised (and gutted) at actually?

What makes you think that you can't extend the warranty on an MPPK car? I would be amazed if that's correct. It would be an admission that it makes a material increase in the likelihood of failure. BMW offered me a warranty extension on a previous F10 520d with MPPK. I didn't take it so I didn't read the small print, but I would have assumed that it was valid.

I've got the extended warranty on my 2012 F30 modern. Took it out with the car being one of the early F30's. When I took it out I had a good long discussion about mods as I wanted to fit the ACS springs. They took it to the underwriters and it was decided they would accept anything fitted to the car as long as it was a BMW approved accessory. Main reason why I purchased the BMW Advanced Eye instead of an aftermarket dash cam.

Their own wording. Zero modifications, but it seems they may let some things slide

The only reason anyone would ever go for the MPPK is because of the warranty. You can get alot better tuning for half the price but if your turbo goes pop, it won't be covered by warranty whereas if it does with the BMW OEM MPPK they would/should happily replace it.

source: Spoke to my Service Manager when i had my MPPSK fitted to my 330d which has an extended 4x4 warranty on it.

Garage List
2018 BMW M3 CP  [10.00]
The BMW New Car Warranty states:
'Neither the Manufacturer, the selling BMW Centre or any BMW Group company in the UK can be held responsible for modifications to the vehicle which lead to defects, unless those modifications have been approved by the Manufacturer, an Authorised BMW Centre or a BMW Service Authorised Workshop.'

Clearly an MPPK is Approved by BMW so covered by the Warranty.

It therefore follows the extended warranty will also cover it. The terms here state 'has in any way been modified from BMW’s approved specification'. The MPPK is an approved specification and is therefore covered.
