Coding New LEDs

When you change the heat and cold checks for the tail lights, do you also have to change the setting that shows they are LED. I thought I saw that this could cause a check engine light.

I already have Weisslicht bulbs in my front turn signals. I haven't noticed any flickering per say. Maybe when I put in the tail lights it will happen. I'm going to use Weisslicht in the rear also.

I have a 2012 F30 with Xenon lighting if that helps.

Thanks!!

Last night I just coded the Warm and Cold checks out as well as changing the LED option to Aktiv. No CEL here.

The CEL only happened to me once when i did the same change. When i did it again, i did not get the CEL so i am assuming it was a fluke.

I have Bimmian Weisslicht LEDs for my rear turn signals (Amber) and back up lights. For each of the four bulbs I changed out, I coded out (changed to not active) warm and cold checks, as well as changing LED to active.

Having said that, I installed the bulbs, but didn't get around to code them for about 2 weeks; during that time, I would get a very short flash at start up and then every 3-4 minutes, which is caused by car checking bulb. Regardless, I never got an error because these bulbs have the necessary resistor built in.

I did this and I have not had any problems. Strange that they separate warm and cold bulb checks like that (why would you want one without the other?).
