It would be natural to expect that these power bumps will happen for some other models at some point in the future, but it's not something BMW discussed at the presentation. Here is the slide that was displayed during the presentation when discussing the 2013 6GC's engines. |

More Power Please
Let's hope so--the N55 needs a power boost--so stock to stock can line up against the Audi S4/S5 and the new Lexus GS!!

3-series doesn't go against Lexus GS. BMW has 5-er for that

plus HP is not everything, its how you can get everything to work in harmony and put that hp to proper use. I don't think the IS350 would be able to match the 335i even with its extra 6hp. Lexus is more focused on comfort than driving dynamics.

I had a 2006 E90 330i that was rated at 255 horsepower before I upgraded to the 2008 E90 335xi with the N54 engine which because it was underrated for power is probably more like 320 horsepower.....obviously quite an upgrade according to the numbers and also on the road and in the car. A 15 horsepower increase in the F30 from 300 horsepower to 315 would be nice but not nearly the 60 to 70 horsepower boost the E90 had after it's first year.

Do you know if it's going to be just a software change, or it's going to involve mechanical/engine part removal ??
it's going to be X-mas present for my car

400BHP and >500Nm ???
No matter how good of a boy you are this year... i dont think Santa is gonna be able to bring you this kind of mod in the power kit! LOL Certainly not at the $1200 price tag... LOL my guess is : 340 tops bhp and 330 NM max ... and that would be stretching way out.
