Connected Drive "BMW On Line" - intermittent?
Just wondering if any others are having intermittent performance with the BMW On Lone features (news, weather, search, widgets, etc)
I am in London Ontario and I understand that the 3G service is via Rogers. I can usually get service reasonably well - except that for various periods almost every day it seem to go off line (no connection messages) This happens mostly between the hours of 4pm - 8pm (roughly) and sometimes only intermittently during those periods. Both "BMW Customer Assistance" and "BMW Connected Drive Assist" services say that are not aware of any service issues. They both recommended using the options menu to "update" the BMW Online function. I have done that often to no advantage - but when I am having the reception problem you can also not get access to the Update process. My BMW London service manager is digging into the issue - but we both suspect there is some load issue in the delivery network (Rogers or BMW servers) - hard to pin down. Would be nice to know if there are any others having similar issues - and in what locations and time frames. Cheers Jim Cash - London Ontario |

Not sure about the online portion, but I've used the Google send to car feature twice this week and the addresses have taken close to 24 hours to show up in the car, when in the past they showed up right away.

I got no connection for one whole day last week. Couldn't load anything past the menu where you choose weather, news ... Other than that day it's been working fine. Maybe server error?

I have a different issue all together. Concierge, Internet and BMW Online all disappeared from my ConnectedDrive menu and if I try to select Roadside Assistance or Customer relations, they're completely greyed out saying that the network is unavailable.
When I press the SOS button, it still establishes the call and also the My BMW Remote App still works. I'm on the new NBT EVO system so maybe it's still buggy as right now, only recently manufactured 2 series vehicles have this system. I booked an appointment at the dealer but I'm looking at 2 weeks before they can look at it. It's really annoying without the Live Traffic as the route calculation is completely off now.
