Black panel display on the 330d M Sport is £140. As said above, shame its not the full LCD display and is still analogue dials . From BMW website:

You could always buy an Audi that has speakers in the exhaust to 'enhance' the sound

Don't know, but it would be great to see BMW follow Audi's lead in using Eberspacher's "actuators", like on the A6 BiTdi. The system can actually make the engine more efficient by reducing back pressure, so it's not just a gimmick:

No, just the regular suspension -and it seems really good, so far.

To the guys with a 330d M Sport, what tyres have they fitted? Are they still fitting Bridgestones - or have BMW finally seen sense and fitted a better tyre?

Does anyone know what cable I need to plug my iPhone into the car system? I tried plugging the standard iPhone sync cable into the USB port in the front armrest but the car does not recognise it. I have an iPhone 4 and the HK system.
You have to have specced up "Telephone USB audio interface 6NF" to be able to use a standard iPhone USB cable for music and stuff

According to BMW's website, this is the man most likely to know the answer to that:

Press Fleet
Martin Harrison
Tel: 01344 480493
E-mail: martin.harrison@bmw.co.uk

I've sent him a polite email.

I've emailed a few car magazines too asking about reviews for the 330d - but heard nothing yet.

They always seem to review the 320d - cos thats the one most people in the country will buy.
They have reviewed the 328i - probably because the novelty of it being a 4 cylinder 2.0 - but quick, low emissions and with good fuel economy.

Maybe they think the 330d is too much like the E9X 330d so have no reason to review it? I dunno.

Hopefully we will get some 'professional' reviews soon.

I took the car out today and gave it some welly in sport mode using the paddle shifts....left a MASSIVE grin on my face! Using the paddle shifters in 'manual shift' mode really changes the feel and nature of the drive - really lets you unleash some of the power. Gear changes are very quick and there is no delay on uplifts or downshifts.

I was seriously seriously impressed with how it drove in manual shift mode. I expect I'll be looking for every opportunity to drive it like that going forward....

Oh, finally got round to uploading some of my iphone pics from delivery day last Friday (don't really do the car justice but in the absence of having you all round to have a look it's the best I can do!)...

P.s. if you are viewing on a smartphone you may have to tap on the photo to see all of it.

Great pics matety, looking very nice indeed. Also, yours does not appear to be sitting too high at all at the front.

Is this the no-cost option Venetian Beige interior ?

If so, I'm relieved to see it looks ok in the flesh. I really wanted oyster/black, but can't get it in M-Sport without paying silly money for individual option. Not going to happen on a lease car.......

Had a very prompt and friendly reply, key paragraph as follows:

"First build date for our press cars in the UK was late July so they are only now just arriving. Our media have therefore not yet had the opportunity to drive the cars. This will be rectified at a press event we have planned in early October so, hopefully, you'll see some (positive) reviews from then."

Must get some work done now......

You can make it louder but it won't sound good. A friend of mine has a 535d with twin exhaust no cats everything removed, it is loud even at 1.5k revs but it doesn't sound good just like a civic it only makes a lot of noise not beautiful noise.

You can make it sound good, but you do need to actively modify the exhaust pressure waves:

Video shows system (i) cancelling pressure waves, for virtually silent exhaust (ii) modifying pattern of pressure waves, for V8 burble.
