Broad Speed 330DMPvs330DMP X Drive
Can't believe yesterday BS showing nearly 4K off 330D M Sport Touring X Drive but only £3300 on non X Drive version that seemed strange as new model with higher discount and less than £1000 difference in price, also seems to me that there is a glut of salons coming on the go but limited 330d M Sport Salons and good lot of 330D tourings all be it some of the first new model high specked motors.
That leads to the question would you rather have a spec that you like with far less kit and get new or very high spec for the same money on demo car? |

I ask myself this all the time, the market is strange at the moment as used cars are priced to high.
Ive narrowed my choice down from an A6 and 5 series to now knowing I want a five, I can have a decent spec new car for the same price as a very well spec'd year old car. Its a no brainer to get new as I will be keeping it for many a year.

For me it was a no brainer to go nearly new, as I don't drive high mileage. Running costs are comparable to a much lower specified F31 328i M-sport touring, which was going to be my new car. No contest in my position. HighlandPete |

I'm just plucking the courage up to go for a 535d Msport, with discount and a few choice extras comes in at 46K via Broadspeed which I think is decent given the price of nearly new one. I agree if I was to look for a pre reg 520d or petrol model the nearly new saving is greater. Look at the nearly new Active 5 ! 32K gets a top spec car that was circa 55 new. but the colour choice is not so great and as i will be keeping this 5+ years then it has to be right as you only lose to depreciation when you sell it lol

I've bought new, but the depreciation of my E91 330d was pretty high even when amortised over 6-years. Getting rid of the first year's depreciation makes motoring either much cheaper, or you can get more car for your money. HighlandPete |

Take a closer look at the true costs and losing say an extra £4k at year 6, is nothing, compared with losing the chance of £25K (or more) off of a "loaded" nearly new car. HighlandPete |

So I want it the engine of choice, interior of choice with the extras I want without going over the top. A lot of fully loaded cars have a half te things I want and half I don't do I don't see that as having any added value. you got such a big discount on your petrol as the buyers just aren't there anymore. Not saying the diesel is gong to hold it's value anymore but I'm not so fussed. The argument over used v new is an old one and something is worth as much as someone is willing to pay, I'm prepared to pay 46k and that's it! I look at second hand ones for 35-45 and think I would rather have new with the few choice extra's

The 46k is 9000 discount inc extras so it's not to bad 6k saving on base price of 48k

I thought the same when speccing up my 330d, but after a few months of the new car, I felt I could have done much better with my money on a nearly new car. Buying for long term does make a difference I agree, just don't get tempted into another car too early. HighlandPete |

I think the dealers are hoping all the fully loaded demonstrators will go up in value they have the extra 18% demo discount to play with but they have depreciated below that at six months old, stand back and wait, there is over 50 on the auc site so only going one way at the moment

Can't see there being many 335i demos about, any that are for sale at moment will be launch cars. Dealers will be more likely to demo the cars that most people want to try before they buy.
Next batch of demos will be 320d and 330d Xdrive models. |

Are they not playing ball? Have you had a price from Broadspeed?
