Poll time. Yes or no to front splitters

Who likes the look of a front splitter on a 340?
I understand it's preference, I am asking what is YOUR preference...

Seems kind of low, would they get banged up easily?

I think they look pretty cool, but the front end of the 340 blacked out is pretty sweet

Are splitters easy to remove?

easy to install, easy to remove

i greatly prefer the look of M Sport front bumper + front splitter ... however, you will scrape EVERYWHERE so be prepared

You scrape everywhere...

My car is pretty much un-drivable if lowered.

Yes, although I may be a bit biased. Not a 340, but I think it's mandatory with the M sport bumper...but again, that's just my opinion. Scraping on the 335i w/ H&R SS's is an issue, but nothing I can't deal with....at least it's the splitter scraping, not the bumper!

Where's the poll?

Yes I still scrap on stock height (RWD) but not too bad.
I wouldn't lower it with the lip (in NYC).

I also want one! mine's xdrive prolly wont' scrape too much? What's the cheapest and best? just ebay?

I just put a taiwanese ebay spoiler on, fitment was PERFECT!

I was considering this one, appears bumper does NOT have to be removed for install? http://www.ebay.com/itm/M-Performanc...RXqnXi&vxp=mtr

I have it on my 335 xdrive. It never scrapes. You can see it in my signature. The only issue I have is everyone thinks I have an M3. I keep saying.. just a 335.

I purchased mine from eBay (don't remember which seller, but I'm sure all the knock offs are similar) and although fitment wasn't perfect, I'm ok with that - touchy subject for some folks, so you'll probably here both sides sounding off. I couldn't justify the cost difference knowing it was the part most likely to scrape after the springs were installed. I was able to install without removing the bumper, but that was before the springs were installed - no way I could have done it after without pulling it up on ramps. Hope this helps!

one more thing to add about the scraping

it scrapes on the very BOTTOM of the splitter
i cannot see any scrapes when looking at the splitter from above or directly in front
i'd have to lay down on the ground to see any of the scraping

it's annoying but doable

On a 3er yes. On a 4er no. You lose the curve of the bumper and its too low imo and could crack. Im looking for something you put on each side rather than one that goes across.

Love it on my 340i, honestly haven't scraped yet, though I'm xDrive and don't drive in the city all that much. I am going to lower it, but went with KW Street Performance coils so I can keep the drop modest.

I also get mistaken for an M pretty often. Someone asked me if it was an M5, reminder how big the F30s have gotten.

It will get scraped. Period. However, if you like the look, get it. I'm a little OCD, and just knowing it's getting scraped, even if it's just the bottom and nobody sees it, is enough to keep me from putting one on.

I did put a rear diffuser on though. And now it really needs balance with a front splitter, so I'm torn. :

I like the look but with previous experiences with other cars with front lips it gets annoying. If you live in snow region it'll be a shovel eventually unless you dont mind putting on and off every spring and fall.

With an X drive. Its all about ride height & approach angles not how steep the incline is. My RWD M-Sport just clears the driveway now.

Avoiding speed bumps etc with the COBRA (3 & 7/8ths" ground clearance) is about all I am interested in doing.

Have no interest in being extra careful for what is just a cosmetic part on the BMW.
