Personally, I am not a fan of the front splitter it seems like its excessive-m sport bumper looks great to me on its own. A lot of forum members love it though. However I think the rear diffuser and spoiler are perfect and really improve the looks!

Get the splitter.
Lower the car.
Don't scrape it.

Yes. it really completes the look of the Msport bumper. It is low, but since you have xdrive the car sits a bit higher compared to most RWD ones. Do a search on Selma lips for a nice OEM alternative that is MUCH less expensive.

I did put a rear diffuser on though. And now it really needs balance with a front splitter, so I'm torn. :

Just an artifact of the camera angle. The car actually rides almost as high as an Allroad.

How easy are these to install?

My last car was a 2010 e92 Coupe and I just bought a 2014 335xi M-Sport Sedan. I love the look of the splitters that you guys have posted.

On the e92 I had a front lip that just taped on. I feel kind of cheap saying it (taping a part onto such a nice car), but the thing stayed put for three years and even through snowy winters.

Is this the same sort of thing or is there a lot of drilling/riveting/bolting involved?

NVM: Stupid question -- I found the DIY Install Thread. Looks doable.

While I don't have any M Performance aero bits, I do generally like the way they look. That being said my main attraction is the thought that said upgrade would bring an (albeit-small) improvement while on track.

Well, that make it easy. These are cosmetic splitters and won't do anything on track. A "real" splitter needs horizontal surface area in front of the car for the high pressure zone in front of the car to apply downward pressure on. These have basically none.

This. I don't think I'd see any performance improvements on my car. But if you like the look of it, go for it!

Oh geez. See what I started! Why did I go there?

I only had the car for few months and already have to replaced the splitters once. You have to really really drive carefully and know where you should and shouldn't go. And sometimes it still end up with you having a sad week. But the look simply is worth it. So, both yes and no.

It makes the front quite a bit lower. You'll start reversing into all your parking spots to reduce the risk of scraping, taking large bumps at an angle etc etc.. I almost tore mine in half on the stopper at the end of a parking spot once, although I have to say you kind of get used to it and know the angles after a while, but it definitely adds a little bit of extra stress to your drive
but imo its worth it. It looks good and makes your car stand out, and when you do scrape you'll be scraping the lip instead of the bottom of your bumper.

Love the look and only scraped once that I can remember. On a steep parking lot entrance I wasn't expecting, but was underneath and can't even see.

It's inevitable that you will end up scraping. Scraping your bumper could be a travesty, but with the splitter it's no problem. The underside is actually sloped so it can take a beating and flex when it hits a surface. I wouldn't go without it.

My car is lowered and the front edge of the splitter sits barely 4 inches from the ground, but I have no issues daily driving it.

NO for me. And it's even worse not matching the color.

I love the splitter on the 3, especially in certain colors like white or Estoril Blue with 19s or 20s.

Not sure it would enhance my 4 in BSM, but would likely get a splitter and the M Performance vinyl for the side skirts to match if I had a silver, white, or Blue 3 or 4.

As an aside, some of you guys Ave very talented with a camera. Some of the car photography in this thread is spectacular!
