Projector Headlamps - Angel Eyes for F30
Hello Aussie mates,
For those in the same boat as me stuck with the stock halogen lamps on their F30s (which are not only ugly but unsafe as per many websites) - this is a great way out... Guys in UK forum have committed to a group buy of quality projector lamps from Depo at a phenomenal cost of ~US 470 http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1274932 The actual cost on their website is around US $569 as shown below which in itself is pretty competitive (compared to OEM lamps that cost US 3000) https://www.uniquestyleracings.com/i...roduct_id=1023 I tried pitching in for the group buy but they wanted to keep it closed for UK folks given the shipping hassles to Aussieland ... The total cost will be cost of headlamps plus HID bulbs (optional, stock halogens can also be used but they won't justify the upgrade), Can module and shipping to AU .. should still be less than around US 800 or less (roughly) Wanted to know if we have daredevils who are interested in going for this DIY which will completely change the look of car and significantly improve night driving visibility I am gonna get in touch with USR to find out about existing group buy discounts and post an update ... Note that there is a wait period for these (being released sometime in Jan) ... Cheers! |

I am in.
As i have been looking to into this as well , I looked at the mars performance ones which set you back $1100ish but they are not OEM look . I have followed the thread for a while now and looks like people have good experience with these. |

The MARS $900 black DRLs look real shitty I give you that, however they also have more OEM looking ones that go for AU $2,999 (Never bothered finding out if someone vouches for them as they are too pricey to be non OEMs)... http://marsperformance.com.au/Black-...-F30-F31-12-15 |

I do not remember correctly but someone here had the Xenon Lights and was happy with them . considering they are selling a Plug and play kit its not that expensive if you really want to upgrade .
My concern with the USR kit would be Auto Headlight and leveling sensor etc. but it appers all of that has been ironed out . i would think this as a cosmetic upgrade than anything else . |

So you're gonna go for the OEMs or are still considering the ones from USR? Update: Just got a reply from USR stating that they will need to know location and qty to quote for the discount. Doesn't seem many are interested in these in AU ... UK's forum had a great response to thought I'd try my luck here. Will wait until a couple days more to see if someone's interested. |

For the OEM's $1800 USD and installation would still set me back $3000+ so financially speaking USR is better option for a cosmetic upgrade. Lights alone are $2500 AUD then comes shipping + Customs + installation cost and other parts if any. Going by this Mars performance kit which is plug and play is better option That is if someone wants Xenon . Hope that makes sense . To answer your initial quetion - Yes i am still interested |

To answer your initial quetion - Yes i am still interested[/QUOTE] Good to know, only issue is that no one else has responded (which is pretty surprising ) for a group buy discount we will need at least 10 orders I would think! |

Great to hear AJ, I will ask around.
On the other hand Chet, I've just relocated to ADL - any recommended workshops for aesthetic and performance mods here? |

I'm interested with this, but how can we install the xenon headlights here in Australia? I believe that no one will accept for the installation since we did not buy it from them. Any suggestion?
