Individual colours without Individual Package?

I was just at the dealership building a 335i M-sport and the sales guy turns his monitor toward me and there's an option that says "Individual colour without Z9A - $800.00". So I ask if that means the individual colours can be ordered separately and he says "let's try"...he tries it, and it allowed the selection.

If this is correct, I will seriously consider Tarzan Blue.

So if you like those colours, make sure to ask about this. I will definitely let you guys know if I go through with an order of a Individual colour.

Interesting. What was the option code that allowed this, and what were the colors available to you?

Might be a regional thing. As far as I know in US you can only get certain colors with certain packages, such as the EBII with MSport.

Tanzanite? It is appears to be a beautiful color from the pictures I have seen of it. I would do it if I were you.

The option code I saw beside the checkbox just said IND. The colours were not listed there, it was just the options. I think the colours were on a different screen.

For some markets (i.e. UK) u can get Individual exterior colours without the need for the complete Individual package. U'll only need the complete package if u also want Individual interior colours.

EB2+M-sport is a worldwide policy. Individual colours/composition is not yet available in US.

Indeed I'd be very interested to hear about whether the order went through or not. $800 is definitely cheap for BMW Individual colors, relatively speaking.

Thing is, it's damn near impossible to see a car in person with individual paint. You can go to most dealerships and see Alpine White, and in some cases EBII, but I am not sure I'm comfortable dropping $800 more on an already $65,000 car that I'm going to have to live with for quite a while to get a colour I have never seen other than in pics online.

Tough call but I will let ppl know if I do it.

I know what you mean, I did exactly that. I ordered mine in TB without seeing the colour anywhere other than on the configurator. Totally blind purchase which at £1215 was quite a gamble. As it is, I absolutely love TB and still smile whenever I see my car. It's a gamble but for me it paid off

That's on top of the metallic colour, if metallics are not standard.

Do it! I almost did. And yes, there was some confusion as to the cost of the individual colour. I asked my dealer and he said I'd have to get the individual package, but looking at the ordering guide it DOES seem possible to ONLY pay for it as a normal paint colour.

To me, the car's got to be unique. Even if I love the colour, if it isn't unique, I won't like it, or I'll like it less and less as I see more of them on the street. Tanzanite was in my top 3 colour list along with EBII and AW. AW fell out because of my previous sentance, and Tanzanite dropped out as I had thought it could not be ordered without the whole individual package. EBII rose up because it was only available in M-Sport and the interior could match it.

If I order, I want to try getting Moonstone Metallic. I just wish I could see it with "real world" photos on a 335 M-sport. I've seen photos of other cars with it and everyone who has owned it has posted how many positive comments they receive. But it is still a gamble. Not because of the cost, but rather the fact that if you don't like it upon delivery, you know you are stuck not liking the look of your vehicle for the next several years!

As others have already stated, the only colours are the ones on the configurator.

Something I found after ordering was this: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...30_EAL_212.pdf which gives a bit more of the detail about the Individual options
