I finally dropped by the dealership today to finalize my F31 order and as luck would have it, their first allocation went into production YESTERDAY and it's too late to change so I have to wait for another allocation to be available. Ah well. Here's the specs as ordered today:

Options sure add up quick! The sales manager agreed to split the difference between invoice and MSRP, which comes out to about $2,250 savings, along with the $750 loyalty. Much better than the other dealers I spoke with who were either unwilling to negotiate or offered minimal discounts.

I have a request in to see if the M Performance brakes and (possibly) exhaust can be installed at VPC. We'll see if pricing makes it worthwhile to add on now or after the fact.

And now the waiting game begins...

Premium = comfort access keyless entry, lumbar support, satellite radio 1yr subscription, dakota leather: $2,200

I could care less about most of it, but it's the only way to get keyless entry, which I'm used to now. Probably a waste for such a small bit of convenience/laziness, but oh well.

I looked all over to see if the car comes with the little compass in the rearview mirror but I can't find it anywhere. I just like how those look, lol, do you have any idea if they come standard or are even an option??

I'm not 100%, but auto-dimming rearview mirror is standard, which usually comes with the integrated compass. Did you ask your dealer?

He said that it comes with premium package, but who knows, I guess we will wait and see

mine is a standard 328i msport, and it has the auto dimming rear view with the compass directions lit up in bright orange "NE", "S", "SW" depending on direction of travel. I find it too bright and distracting. Not to mention the auto dimming isn't nearly dim enough for my delicate retinas.

I received a call saying that after several requests for another allocation, the dealership was informed they will not receive another until June!! CA said they will try to trade for one, but did not sound hopeful. If this is truly the case, I will likely be canceling my order and looking elsewhere.

Have you tried contacting SoCal dealers? I'd give Jon Shafer a call at Santa Barbara BMW.

The biggest problem with buying a car out of town is getting there to take delivery. Always such an inconvenience the times I've done it.

Thankfully I was able to go see the first F31 that arrived at my dealer this week. The rear cargo space was much smaller than anticipated and is NOT going to cut it. My son's stroller fits in the F30 trunk straight in, leaving the other half of the floor for luggage and other junk. I'm not sure how or why, but the F31 trunk floor is not as deep and the stroller only fits sideways, taking up almost the whole floor. Pretty ridiculous and not at all what I hoped for, so I cancelled my order. Farewell, F30post!

Haha.....I gotcha! Well what are you thinking about getting then, I know there isn't much to chose from. How about a Benz wagon??

I've been going round and round with this and think I've settled on a Q7 S Line. It's the best of bad options. If you want to discuss further, we can PM.
