N20/26 mileage

How many miles are on some of the higher mileage cars out there? How are these engines holding up maintenance/repair wise?

Im sure there is no high mileage N20 engines out there yet but they seem to be pretty problem free

Mileage

The best I've ever done is 43 mpg running about 70. I live in a rural area and drive about 55 to 60 mph average . I get about 39.5 mpg pretty consistently. I don't think it makes a huge difference, but I have a K&N filter and BMW performance exhaust.

I only have about 29,000 on mine. Knock on wood, it is running like a champ.

Nice! I'm getting 20-21, rural too but I've got my foot in it around every corner

Also has under 500mi on it, I'm guessing mileage improves after the break in and there's some mileage on it.

17 in nyc lol...better than the 15-16 I got with my e90...was still expecting more from the 4 banger though, but with stop signs/lights on every block, its hard to control the gas.

It gets better with time. I think just getting used to the car has a lot to do with it.

25k miles on mine, no issues with the N26. Avg 31mpg in my daily commute (mixed city/highway), max on a long trip was 38.5mpg over 150 miles @ 70mph w/AC on.

My average for metro commuting and interstate driving like a bat out of hell is ~27mpg.
I just took a trip from Minneapolis to Madison and my speeds averaged between 75-85 the whole way back and forth. I got 36mpg.

My car has 21k miles.

Took a road trip last year doing about 55-65 the whole way, and I was up around 42mpg.

I am the op, I guess I really worded this question poorly. I am looking for how many miles do you have on your n20/n26 car. Anyone with over 50K yet - any problems?

About 32k miles on mine, replacement engine due to catastrophic failure around 25k. So far so good on the new motor though.

Without going into specifics for obvious reasons, an injector failed in one cylinder, this ended up causing the rod to bend/the piston to crack in 2 places, and scored the block pretty badly.

32k here, no issues. I'm going by the scheduled maintenance, which I'll probably regret since I own the car, but I rationalize it with most of my miles being highway...
