335MSport vs 328 No MSport..

Hi Guys,
Initially I was not interested in the F30 BUT after looking at the MSport parts HERE I am thinking about it. Like most everyone here I am seriously disappointed that in Canada one has to get the 335 to get the MSport. I do not need the power of the 335 as I already have the E90. So I was thinking of going for a 328 and adding the MSport parts afterwards such as
  • Painted Calipers (not ///M performance..)
  • ///M Sport steering wheel (LOVE IT!)
  • Body kit
  • Lowered suspension

I do not know for sure as it is not shown on the BMW.CA website but the price difference seems to be 10K when adding everything in.

I am curious on others opinion on this option.

thx!

When you finish retrofitting those parts to your 328, how far away are you from a 335 MSport? I'm thinking the gap might be a lot smaller than the 10k and you don't have to deal with diminished resale.

Just special order a 328i with M Sport... $400 special order fee + the price of the package ($3800)

Yes, hence me considering going for a 335. Does anyone know the parts cost in Canada?

If I had known this back in March when I ordered I would be driving a 328 M-sport right now.
However, I'm still VERY happy with my 328 because I got the beautiful saddle brown leather interior.

Trust me, don't do it. Just get a 335i M-sport or 328i M-sport... when everything is said and done, it will cost you more retrofitting, not to mention, some parts may not be compatible.

Unless you can part out those OEM parts for a really good price, you are better off going with an M-sport. Saves the hassle, the labour, and storage space for the original parts that come off your car.

I did it on my E90, and it's a lot of money and time to deal with it.

I would have thought to upgrade 328 base to MSport, you will need to upgrade to a SportsLine first. Otherwise, the difference between a sportsline and Msport is not much for all the extra goodies

M sport package is a line in itself, it is not $3800 on top of Sport Line...

Hi everyone,

I am newbie here and looking to purchase the 2013 328xi in toronto.

I'm interested on M sport pkg. Since I know we can pay $400 special order fee plus the cost of the package on the 328i. But what about on 328xi? Dose it available to order?

I went to one GTA dealer today and test drove the 328xi 8sp auto. It's very beautiful car and solid ride. So, the SA show me the option list to narrow down the option then I start ask him about the M sport pkg availability. Then he said there no such thing to ordre even on 328i with the special order fees. I remember someone here has order the 328i with M sport pkg but not 328xi.

So, can anyone could give me an answer is there an option I can order on 328xi?

Thanks,

Thats amazing if you did that. I haven't had a client request that but I will look into that myself.

With that being said, I can't speak for the 328 but inorder to get a 335 with Msport, you must add the sport line package first but unlike the 328, there is no charge to get the sport line.

Very interesting!

I have contacted all of the dealers in the Vancouver area and have been told by every one of them that they can not order a 328i with M Sport even if I pay $400 for the ZSP special order.

I was seriously looking and since they would not sell one to me I got something else.

I don't want or need the power or poorer fuel economy of the 335i. I'd prefer the lighter front end with better turn in of the 328i, as described by BMW professional driver Joey Hand.

The 328i Sport package was a thought but with no M Adaptive suspension or M Sport brake option and no M Sport steering wheel I will pass.

In the UK you can get M Sport package on a 318d and 320i

So what did you get?

I know how you feel as thats what I felt some time back. I ended up getting the 335i and will probably do the M Sport Package as an after market add-on.

I seriously want to meet the guys at BMW Canada...

That M-sport steering wheel is a must-have, IMO. I am a bit spoiled coming from an M3, but the standard (and Sport) line steering wheels just feel awful. Like hard rubber or plastic. Once you try and M or M-sport steering wheel, there is no going back.

Well, I guess no one had the balls to talk to BMW Corporate.

Maybe they changed their minds. But I did get confirmation from 2 different dealers that it was possible.
