I really think "logistically" our cars are way below average for delivery.

If I get it next Friday that will be 3 weeks from getting off the boat--way too long.

at least I have a 4 day weekend coming up--assuming it really does get here; it's not on a truck yet.

Great looking and really like the black grills. Gives it a different look. Ours is on the way according to both BMWUSA site and the 800 number. Will ask CA tomorrow which ship for sure.

my CA stalked the truck on Saturday morning - he actually thought HIS car was coming when the inventory manager said "your car is here" - he meant mine :-)

just got a call from the guy at BMW NA who I called last week to investigate.

my car just went on a truck today.

ETD Saturday. I hope my dealer can prep the car pronto.
anyone know of a reason they can't deliver it the same day?

forgot to ask if there was an explanation; clearly this is not normal. I can only hope it wasn't the stupid SS pedals I asked for. that should be like a 5 minute install and if they didn't have them they should have contacted my CA who would have said just ship the thing.

great news. the reason they might not be able to deliver same day is that the truck may be waiting for some other cars so it can leave relatively full?

I can't imagine they can't fill a truck with cars to Chicago.

anyway the ETD to dealer is Saturday. I mean what does the dealer have to do to get it ready. pull off the wrapper, who disengages "transport mode"--not that it can take more than a minute

they do a full performance inspection to ensure you're all set. it's worth it. doesn't make sense to take delivery of a vehicle with damage/not in cherry condition especially after you've waited to long. I know it's painful but worth it.

inspection can't take that long I'd guess
they know I'm pissed about the delays
sad that my CA still hasn't informed me that it's on a truck, not sure what's up with that after they said they were "on top of it"
