Ok guys, we have an update for you.

The rings themselves are developed and complete, they fit the housings perfect. We basically came up with 3 styles, but developed 2 different styles of rings. The first style of ring is a full height on both sides, the second style provides a slightly more aggressive look with one of the sides being half length. The second style also allows us to modify the ring to a 3rd version that looks like the DTM style headlight.

We're currently working on creating the lens for the LED's so it doesn't look cheap with the bare rings just slapped inside the headlight. The goal is to achieve the look of the LED headlights with the thick and wide ring lenses, so it looks as OEM as possible.

We're really trying to make this modification appealing not only to the Non-Xenon headlight owners, but to the Xenon owners as well. We strongly feel that the thick AE rings from the 6-Series (and new 5-Series) LED headlights are a lot more appealing than any other style of ring available on the market and we want to make that available for you guys.

Here's a lighting design concept we started with, and the result of the ring boards.

I'll keep you guys updated with any information and updates we have, along with the 3d designs of the ring housings we should have in a few weeks.

This diagram actually shows style 2 & 3, style 1 is the full ring you'll see in the picture below.

We're using 3528 SMD LED's, mounted as close as possible to each other to provide a solid and even light distribution.

I'm SO in! I don't care if I have to leave my F30 in the garage for a couple weeks! Count me in line for getting this done. I love everything about my car except halogens, hated that I didn't wait a year and it was a $4500 tag to get this, but still have regretted it ever since. I have been returning to the dealer and test driven a 335 M sport with a manual and almost bought it because there is just that little bit missing. This upgrade would leave me in complete content with my car!

AND, I'm going on vacation the end of June for 2 weeks and wouldn't mind sending my lamps to be one of the first if you are ready and willing to take them...provided the price is in the range I'm thinking you will offer them for.

+++++ For the above-recommended style 2 with the inner ring connected with the grilles.

Will the finished product also do something to mask the stock halogen housing's ugly polyhedral reflective plastic inside the rings?
