ACS springs - Questions for cars with M Perf Kit

Hi All

I know there are a few threads on here about the ACS springs but I have a few questions.

I have a 335d xDrive with the M Performance kit fitted. The gap as we all know in the wheel arch is quite a lot. From what I've read on the forum I'm quite keen to get the springs installed. I've already got a quote from Lorcan and will get these fitted in King's Lynn. My concerns are that the front will be to low when negotiating speed humps or driveways. I've attached photo's of my car and my driveway ramp - Its quite close to the ground.

For guys with ACS springs and M Perf Kit - How do you find driving around over humps/driveways etc? Any Issues? Or is it a case that my driveway is too steep...

Do you find you have to be extra careful to avoid scrapping the bottom (more so than normal)?

Cheers

I think you've answered your own question by showing the photos. It looks like any lowering is going to cause you problems.
I would say ACS springs definitely a no no in your case. You may (only just) get away with the Eibach Pro Kit which I had & doesn't drop it quite as much as ACS's.

Garage List
Try approaching/ exiting the driveway at an angle so that one of the wheels leads and raises the splitter. I have to negotiate a steep exit out of a car park occasionally and find this approach works.

Your driveway does appear tight mind.

I’ve taken my splitter off because with the ACS springs it scraped all the time!

I say get the springs and remove the splitter, the springs add far more to the car than the splitter.

I say drive at an angle too.

Or amend the dip in the drive so you're wheels don't dip down so much.

Thanks for the replies all Much appreciated.

I'll try the angled approach. But I guess if I want the springs... the splitter will have to come off.

Cheers

Depends on how it was put on? if dealer fit it won't be an easy job to get off as they will have used 'Betalink' adhesive, so that'll ruin the original bumper.

I had Eibach springs and splitter fitted for a month or two. I've only managed to scrape the front once coming out of a petrol station which has a dodgy angle to the road. Looks like your drive could be an issue though. Maybe drive at an angle and take some more pictures, see what the clearance looks like.

Yes mate, forward or reverse - its still quite low to the ground. Think I'm going to get the car lowered anyway and then use the 'angled driving' approach on the drive

I'd definitely do the springs and get rid of the splitter, as once the car is lowered the front doesn't look like it needs the splitter nearly as much as standard, and I'd prioritise how the car drives every day of the week.

ACS Springs and splitter on F32 here and I am learning to be very careful but sometimes it's completely unavoidable and you scrape (along with the cringe!) on standard roads when crossing a crossroads for example when you're going across the camber.

You also learn to modify your routes, there are a couple of roads around where I live where I have to take the long route and where 'traffic calming' is working by keeping me away!

The other problem is I can no longer go into my local retail park so no more McDonalds breakfast on the way to the office - kind of like an enforced diet.

It's a pain in the arse and I can see me having to have the splitter (carbon) touched up on a fairly regular basis but I can forgive it for the looks.
