Saw this on facebook. What a fucking mess.
Somehow, some people were saying it was the guy with the camera's fault for stopping!? Can't see it myself. Never saw anything as bad as that when I used to go. I bet it's greasy as sin this time of year, and it's like an ice rink. |

The lesson here is to park past the accident. Road or track.

Seen this on facefuk.
Not sure if the guy was to blame his heart is the right place trying to stop further accidents and warn people. I know at croft they won't allow normal coolant, I was with my dad at Silverstone earlier in the year and they weren't fussed when we were on the track. |

I wonder how many insurance claims were made on the road just outside the ring that day?

The issue with the ring is that there is so few marshals and marshals posts combined with relatively poorly sighted bends that incidents like this are inevitable. I will still go, but I've decided only to proper closed track days.

Looks like a classic case of lots of people in fast cars running out of talent. I mean, how the fuck did the porsche get it so wrong to end up piling in backwards. |

Have a look at this perspective - it does look like the major incident occurred after the German guy stopped.
Besides, he stopped on the outside of the bend so any car unable to stop in time was bound to hit him. Part of me thinks if he'd driven on, the incident would have been less serious - why do so many people seem to get out of their cars on the ring?! Mad.

Blimey, he was lucky to get out unscathed.
To be fair, it all went Pete Tong with the 2 cars that came in hot around 45 secs into the clip. They were nowhere near his car, and lost control further down, which looked to be what started blocking the road. Last edited by Russbmw; 11-16-2017 at 04:48 PM.. |
