GT Sales Statistics

It's pretty easy to find the monthly US BMW sales, but does anyone know where you can get more detailed information? For the 3 Series, it's usually the whole 3/4 Series combined. I would love to see how many GTs are sold in a month/year. Even BMW's own monthly press release doesn't break down the numbers.

Any ideas?

Ok, what am I looking at? What do the first six numbers mean? I get the numbers after the colon. Are the numbers for US only or worldwide? If they're worldwide then the single digits are really surprising.

Not the change the subject, but, I was watching Grimm the other night and thought I saw a "GT" in the background (I'm a habitual car watcher in movies and TV shows). Even backed up the picture to get a better look. But the car blended into the background too much to make it out. The car showed up later in the program and, sure enough, it was a "GT".

A 5GT.

Oh well, it was close, I guess.

What happened in June and especially August? Was that the changeover for the 2015MY?

June - no clue.

August is vacation time.

New MY usually starts in the last days of July (typically those are builds for ED customers who'll be picking up in early September, and whose cars have to be produced before August shutdown).

Gotcha. Don't know why I couldn't see that. Guess I was trying too hard to decipher the numbers.

Those numbers are kid of low? Is this for total production or only US market? I personally think the GT is an underrated car. Lots of value, however people can't see beyond the rear.

The above poster said these are US numbers.

The numbers are low if you consider it a unique car, but if you consider it a configuration of the 3-series its pretty decent, worth bringing over anyhow.

I also agree its an underrated car, and feel if they designed the rear end with a bit more A7 look, it would sell a lot better even if it lost a couple feet of storage capacity.

I think BMW is still figuring out the aesthetics of the GT. Its clearly a nicer looking car than the 5, and yet somehow they got more room out of it as well.

I anticipate the next redesign will make it even better.

Thanks for these numbers. It'd be interesting to see how the F34 is stacking up against the F31. Any chance you could post F31 sales figures as well?

I had a senior moment the other day at Walmart and couldn't remember where i had parked the car. That has never happened before, and I definitely didn't like that feeling at all. Anyway, at one point I started walking toward a silver Hyundai Sonata before I realized what it was. I was amazed how similar the rear end is to the 3GT. Ok, it was raining and cold and I was tired, but still, I was surprised the car fooled me (and I know my cars!).

No, I've grown too tired of answering the same question about different models.

Which is why I made an Excel spreadsheet that covers every single model manufactured since 1975. You just need to know the type code of the car you're interested in.
