Driver side mirror - moving?

Hi Guys,

It may just be me, but I'm curious does the driver side mirror move with the steering wheel to allow better vision when turning? I feel like sometimes it has moved, but I may be crazy.

Cheers!

You be tripping. Only time mirror moves is when you have it in reverse while parking, in which case it'll tilt down to show the curb.

+1

And just to be clear it's the passenger side that does this. Never the drivers side.

You can just move the mirror selector to the right side to stop that. Then when u need it put it back to the left.

If the driver side mirror is moving (i.e. dipping down) you have to be careful that you're not somehow leaning on the armrest controls. This is something that happened with me once and it's easy since the mirror selector is often in the driver side position.

It could possibly be a hallucination due to the dual curvatures on the mirrors. The outer edge has a sharper curvature allowing you a wider angle. It takes some getting used to.

Other reasons could be LSD or Shrooms, before getting into the vehicle.

Do you need the premium package for that? No matter what position the switch is in, my right mirror won't tilt down when in reverse.

It is very strange that just the passenger side mirror tilts when in reverse. It makes the feature nearly useless.

Wouldn't it just be 50% useless?

Probably less, seems to me it's needed far more on passenger side.

Try switching the little button you use to adjust the mirrors to the driver side. Have to have it there else the passenger side stays fixed.

Hi, how did you disable that? For some reason, mine is no longer tilting toward the ground ... I must have disabled it accidentally. I would like that to be enabled.

Haha yes. The passengers side tilts downward so you can see the curb when parallel parking etc.

A feature of all bimmers for the last several generations - love it, no curb rash when parallel parking.
