M3 style front bumper paint cost?
Looking at putting one of the Selma M3 style front bumpers on my car and was curious as to what others have paid to get them painted?
Thanks! |

Search paint shop or auto body / collision on yelp. They have this feature where when you send a message to one place, you can mark checkboxes to send the same message up to like 10 more business. Write a generic "hey, I have this bumper and need it painted this color, how much would you charge" message and blast away

However, I have extremely high standards when it comes to automotive paint. I have 2 body shops in SoCal that I trust for the cars we repair at work and for my personal vehicles. They both charge close to $1k per bumper because they bring it back to factory finish.

And no $350 paint job will match either. I agree that it will cost between $600+ upwards to $1000 depending on what is involved and if they are doing complete uninstall and reinstall. Just finding a highprice doesn’t assure quality either. That requires some real effort speaking with the right people. Blasting messages on Yelp isn’t the way to do it. |

Thanks for the comments guys. I feel better paying the $600-$700 which will cover painting the bumper Estoril and the lip gloss black. One of the shops recommended for me to bring my car to the shop so he can get an exact match on the paint. Is that a good idea or just have him match factory paint?
I am doing all the labor myself so should I totally install it unpainted to check for fitment or just get it painted first before I install it?

Lots of luck.
Non OEM Parts take a lot of time, effort and skill to minimize small differences in size that make the repair obvious to anyone who knows anything about cars who glances at it. And of course they should match the paint on the car. Questions like that tell me you will not be able to get the proper fit above. |
