New F30 at the LA Car Show?

Does anybody know if the F30 will make an appearance at the LA Car Show this weekend? That would be awesome if it did considering that the launch is only a few months away and the LA Car SHow is arguable the biggest car show in North America since LA is the biggest car market in the US.

No, the F30 won't be at the LA Car Show.

Best regards,

Actually, the Detroit auto show (NAIAS) and the New York auto show (NYIAS) are larger and generally given more attention from auto manufacturers. Each show sees more (and more important) model debuts than the LA show.

The Detroit Auto Show used to be THE show for the US but in recent years, many auto manfacturers have bailed on that show and have only recently come back to showcase at that show. I haven't read anything about the New York Auto Show so I won't comment on that but like I said, the LA Auto Show is arguably the better show to showcase products just because of the market. New York is a much more known location and Detroit is the birthplace of autos in the US but LA is the car capital of the US. New York doesn't even have a car culture that comes close to LA and Detroit is fading faster from the spotlight than Norv Turner is about to be replaced. ...but of course, this is just my opinion.

The US has four shows a year and whilst LA,NewYork and Chicago are completely funded by BMW North America they are mainly "product"shows.
BMW tend to keep the focus on the NAIAS for Premieres.

LA will see the BMW i3 and BMW i8 Concept Cars for the first couple of days Then they head to Japan and the Tokyo Autoshow which opens on the 30th November in which the Active Hybrid 5 will be having it's world Premiere.

The launch of the F30 is BMW being "efficient"as some markets still have a lot of E90's in stock. The F30 will not be seen at an Autoshow until 2012. And again BMW will unveil the car at the show which is closest to the World-wide launch in February. The BMW F20 1er went on sale the week before the IAA even though the IAA was it's "World Premiere".

It is BMW responding to the market.
