New car coming early

My new car ordered in mid November was down for early February delivery. Dealer phoned today saying it was arriving by tomorrow - over a month early. Does this happen often? Was quite a surprise for a factory order to arrive so quickly.

Have to say I'm not disappointed - it won't be registered until Jan 2015 and have arranged to take delivery on 6th January, really looking forward to it now!

It's a F31 330d Luxury in Mineral Grey with lots of extras, the full list escapes me right now but includes Adaptive suspension, Visibility pack, panoramic roof, sports heated seats with lumbar and electric with memory, HK speakers, black panel, business nav (don't use it much so not worth pro version), etc... can't wait now!

Remembered the rest of the spec now - in addition to the above it has Interior comfort pack, Advanced Parking pack, Sun protection glass, Ext folding mirrors, interior is black Dakota with exclusive stitching and Fineline anthracite, and sliding armrest - think that's about it, the rest of the kit fitted comes as standard.

BMW factories either seem to be running half empty as they are losing sales or they are being super efficient and have ramped up production. It is more likely the former especially with the ugly mutt 1 Series.

Where are you getting your car from?

I think demand is quite low at the moment for the F30/F31. I got mine within a month of ordering.

Can depend upon spec, I jumped a queue by not having the CF roof on the M4. Maybe a run of F31 Luxury spec was due, I think a lot of luck comes into it.

Yes, factory order to my spec. Ordered on the 1/11 and delivered to me 27/11.

A flurry of emails & calls this morning & my car is now awaiting delivery to the dealer & I'll get it next week now.

Local dealer, Buchanan BMW. I either deal with them or it's a ferry trip to mainland UK - but to be fair they have been pretty good so I'm happy. Would have liked more notice the car was early though - money is tied up until mid Jan so will have to put part of it on credit card, they said the computer system is iffy at the moment and it was BMW UK who informed them several other cars as well as mine are on the way.

- I'm happy to wait and get a Jan reg - it doesn't make a big difference a few years down the line but a few more days won't hurt.

Doesn't bother me & my last car was a late Dec delivery. I pushed for the best deal possible & part of that was December delivery if they could get the car in intime.

Got the reg number today so I think it's coming
