I drive cautiously in general, and especially in winter. I have to say that with the LM-60 there were a few times last winter where I felt my RWD 335 lost some traction while driving over patches of ice and snow at stop signs and during turns. The car slid very slightly for 1 or 2 seconds at most. For a few moments it felt like the car was "floating" on the road (i.e., tires lacking road grip). Traction control light was blinking a few times. Nothing alarming, but it was important be in control.

Not sure if having the WS-70 tires (or even AWD) would have made a big difference in those situations. But otherwise the LM-60 performed quite well in general.

Yeah I'll prob get LM60 for my F31.

My roads do get cleared its just friggin cold here and I have bad snow days.

Yeah the WS70 is more aggressive for ice and snow but not as good on dry roads. It's the top winter weather tire they sell.

It'll prob also have higher wear rates and poorer driving characteristics.

The LM60 I a semi-sporty winter tire. Light on the sporty but slightly better. It's still excellent in snow and ice but also rides/drives well on cleared roads.

Got a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 from tirerack $750 shipped. They're sitting in my garage waiting to go on the stock 18 inch sport wheels. I plan on selling the Pirelli Cinturato P7 run flats that came with the car. Purchasing a staggered 19 inch set up for next summer. I used Blizzak WS 70 on my old rear drive E90 but I wasn't too impressed with them.

LM32 has been in use over @ Europe for the last couple of winters already. Various tests had been done and LM32 did well overall, coming in close to the top when compared to Michelin, Conti, Goodyear & Dunlop.

Tirerack will not have any test data for this coming winter selling season, they will probably just rely on owners' feedback.

For me, I need a performance set for winter, just narrow down to the following: all V-speed rated
Michelin PA4
Dunlop WS 4D
Conti TS830P
Bridgestone LM32

Therefore, once the price is out for Canada, I will decide

Picked up lm60s yesterday. Think they'll be fine for Vancouver. Going to put them on my old 189 rims from my e90 days

For winter tires and rims, can you downsize from 18" to 17" or even 16" lol?

If you have Mpkg, you cannot downsize to 17 & 16. Therefore, all depends on what model & trim you have.

17's will fit the 328i fine (not sure about the 335i though). I ran the same 17's I had from my old E90 last winter on my 328i.

I looked into this choice for awhile and ended up going with the xi3.

Well, they LOOK as good as the Hakka's on my wife's winter setup.
I plan to put them on this week in preparation for a trip to Lake Louise. So I guess I am hoping for snow!

Highly NOT recommended due to smaller diameter variance.

Recommended would be 225/50/17 square setup so you can rotate them and should last you for 4/5 winters.

can I change the summer tires to winter tires myself? do i need to worry about the electronics in the Tire Pressure Monitoring System? please advise.
